Experienced WSS racer Miguel Praia returns to the series riding the PTR-run Bogdanka Honda at the Nurburgring.
Praia given WSS comeback shot
Miguel Praia will make his return to the World Supersport Championship grid at the Nurburgring this weekend after being given the chance to ride with the PTR-prepared Bogdanka Honda team once again.

The Portuguese rider competed with the Simon Buckmaster-helmed operation between 2008 and 2011, but was left without a ride for 2012 when key sponsor Parkalgar withdrew its backing.

Nonetheless, 34-year-old Praia, a veteran of 75 WSS starts and 40 WSBK starts, will return with the Bogdanka-sponsored team for the German round as he looks to impress prospective employers for 2013.

“I'm very happy to be a part of the Bogdanka Honda PTR team. I'm really looking forward to the weekend and aiming for a good result. I want to come back to the World Supersport Championship full time and Bogdanka have given me a great opportunity to put in a strong result.

“Of course, I know how fast my rivals are, so I'm working really hard and I'm really motivated. I like the Nurburgring circuit. It's an old style track which is a lot of fun to ride, but it's not easy. I've been a bit unlucky there in the past but it should suit both myself and the Honda bike, so I'm looking forward to the weekend.”

Praia's best WSS season came in 2010, finishing 12th overall and scoring a best finish of sixth place at Silverstone.

Wonder how big the bag of cash was that he rocked up with to get that slot?
Bearing in mind Buckmaster spent the last couple of seasons trying to drive him out of the Parkalgar team it must be a hansome wedge!

Ironic that it's the same team the released him because of sponsorhip issues. I understand he will take Szkopek's place, there were more riders on that single seat than every other PTR bike :)
