Jeremy Guarnoni will take a small advantage into final qualifying for the FIM Superstock 1000 Championship round at the Nurburgring after securing provisional pole position.

Picking up where he left off in FP1, Guarnoni was once again fastest on the MRS Kawasaki, the Frenchman sneaking below 2mins to outpace championship leader Eddi La Marra by a tenth of a second.

La Marra comes into the weekend protecting a 31 point lead over the opposition, with Guarnoni, Sylvain Barrier and Bryan Staring all attempting to chase him down with three rounds remaining. With Q2 to come, Barrier and Staring were behind their key rival in third and fourth overall.

Monza podium winner Christoffer Bergman was fifth best to make it three Kawasakis inside the top five, ahead of leading Honda rider Fabio Massei and SK Energy Ducati pairing Ondrej Jezek and Marco Bussolotti.

Behind them, Markus Reiterberger and Lorenzo Savadori completed the top ten, just ahead of sole British representative Kev Coghlan on the DMC Ducati 1199 Panigale.
