Sam Lowes continues to set the World Supersport pace at the Nurburgring as he cemented his authority by topping FP2 around the German circuit.

Having paced FP1 and taken provisional pole position in Q1, Lowes has been quick aboard the Bogdanka PTR Honda so far this weekend, form he continued in FP2 by lapping in 1min 59.465secs.

Perhaps more crucial, however, was the gains made by championship leader Kenan Sofuoglu, the Kawasaki rider shaving more than five tenths off his best time to slot just behind Lowes in second place.

With Fabien Foret, Jules Cluzel and Broc Parkes completing a familiar-looking top five and each under 2mins, the battle for pole position later today is destined to be a tight one.

Forming the chasing pack a half second back, Ronan Quarmby led Honda counterpart Roberto Tamburini, while Sheridan Morais, Alex Baldolini and Mathew Scholtz completed the top ten.
