i gotta be honest... i would love to be proven wrong... but i don''t think rossi has a chance of finishing inside the top ten. not only does his history on this rally not bode well, he is also driving a different car to the car he has driven in previous rallies (bar his last monza entry). and the relative rallying success he has had so far has not been on the muddy unpredictable surfaces of wales, but the more reliable gravel surface of nz and the tarmac of monza. plus the factory suzukis weren''t around last year, which puts two more top ten contenders into the mix... i just don''t think he''ll get in the top ten. i''d love to see him do it, but i think he will finish well, probably in the top

In Newzeland he finished in front of the grp n cars!! Maybe im wrong but i reckon he will have trouble staying in the top 15 on day one! if he makes it through the rally maybe he get close to a top ten with retirements.

I find it absolutely hillarious that people think that Valentino will finish in the top 10. Some professional rally drivers will find it hard to Rossi has no chance whatsoever!

My prediction is that he'll be running in the top 20 if it's snowy. In snowy conditions he'll also be battling with the group N cars, so life won't be easy.
If it's dry(ish) then he stands a better chance, but somehow can't see it being dry(ish)!

Well I've just voted on this subject (for what it's worth!) and I see that an astonishing 70% of people think he'll finish in the top ten!!!!

Didn't he finish 11th on the 2006 Rally New Zealand? If so, I don't understand all the scoffing and guffawing over his attempt to finish in the top ten. Was his Impreza of some years ago even a works machine? Sure, neither Loeb nor the Suzukis were around at that time, but on the other hand, New Zealand doesn't exactly have a reputation as a rally of attrition. Plus, the Perez Compancs of this world have shown themselves capable of top ten finishes on events, while Rossi's and Loeb's F1 tests have shown that gifted drivers are perfectly capable of making respectable transitions between disciplines quickly. In conclusion, then, I'd see a top ten finish as a suitably tough, but doable goal.
