Excellent news. Welcome back Marcus. Of course, this now means Matt Wilson will have to revise downwards his expectations, from his recent brace of lowly 7th places, to 8th in Portugal.

Hopefully Marcus can keep Danni behind the BP boys and maybe even Seb, but I doubt he can beat Seb after this time off and a strange car.

I hope he does really well and decides to return anyway. The Sport needs him and misses him.

Yeah, well done Marcus. Great to see you back. It's good to see another top driver in the WRC in a top car. All we need now is the return of Markko Martin, Francois Duval, Gigi Galli etc. The WRC should be the pinacle of the sport, the top drivers in the top cars, not all these pay drivers in these manufacturer 2 teams.

Great to see Prodrive back, and Subaru as well. Interesting that they waited until their 2009 'contracted' drivers had fixed up alternative drives before officially bringing Marcus in. Would be great if Marcus could get a top result for Prodrive and Subaru which would make Subaru rethink their decision to withdraw.

Best possible news for the WRC. Marcus was always a driver who would drive the car as it was, on the absolute limit. He didn't worry about the car set up particularly. Despite the Scooby being shocking last year, hopefully he will be able to work a bit of his magic on the Portuguese stages. As already said, we need Marcus, Duval (most underrated driver)and Marko back in the sport ASAP

P.S. - Agree with you Chris, looks like Matt will now be aiming for a lowly 8th in Portugal. Press release afterwards will say 'how pleased he was to gain an important 8th place, and final world championship point on this highly technical gravel rally etc., etc., etc., blah, blah, blah'.

Would prefer to read that he rolled out of 4th place(both crew OK) after chasing sordo down for 3rd.

yes twin cam , ur comment is very funny!

i also prefer a driver like anderson in norway pacing with the front runners and crashing than petter running nowhere to finish 6th.

the great news i ever heard this year is marcus comeback.

even if subaru is a pedestrian car marcus will discover some speed in it as he did with a PEDESTRIAN peugeot in 2005.

good luck marcus

It will be interesting to see what would happen if by chance everything went better than expected and Marcus found his old raw speed after just a few stages and won the event.

What would Prodrive do ???

Would they find some short term funding and run as an M2 team with just Marcus and demonstrate to Subaru that it is worth coming back....

Would Marcus be prepared to return for a smaller than usual wage ????

I wonder........
