Henning,

Yer having a laugh.

Give the drive to your brother, be happy with your stobart ride, you only have to beat the man with the 5 year plan and the muppets in the munchies team :p

I was shocked after I read the article, thought it was Petter who would have -rightly so- said he could do the job for BP Ford.

Henning, like someone else whose merits are frequently discussed on this website, you have had a number of years in the WRC now, but you haven't even looked like winning. It's nothing to do with factory cars, or lack of testing, you simply haven't shown that spark of ultimate pace.

I like you as a character, and you are an asset to the WRC, but don't see you as a shoe in for the factory team.

Other than Jari Matti, the only other driver I would like to see in a full works Focus, would be your brother, Petter, however not much chance of this, since he walked out on Malcolm to go to Subaru a few years ago. Shame, because this is what most WRC fans would be interested to see !

Breaking news - Ford have announced that Matthew Wilson will replace Jari Matti until the end of the year. Malcolm Wilson told the official WRC website "I believe that Matthew has come a long way and is ready to step up to the challenge of driving a factory car, his results and pace shown this year have proven he can compete with the best on any surface.

Matthew Wilson believes he can make the best of this gift and challenge for wins from now until the end of the year "I think its now possible to fight for victory against the front runners hopefully we can improve your place in the championship."

@ Kevin

Don't joke about things like that. That's just cruel and unusual punishment to spread rumours like that.

I might be wrong here but I think some of you took Henning's comments as he wants to replace Latvala, what I think he is saying is given a full 09 spec car and the same test as Mikko and Jari he could help the BP team take points off Citroen while still driving for the Stobart team.

Sorry Mikkola you are wrong,

The heading that we have all remarked about actually says that Henning is eyeing Jari Mattis place in the BP Ford team.

Perhaps your right in that Henning is meerly saying that if he had a Factory Focus with the same testing deal as the BP drivers, he could beat Sordo in Finland and help the BP team beat Citroen.

I dont doubt that, Henning usually goes well in Finland so he is possibly right, the more pressure Ford put on Citroen the better. Maybe Malcolm will do this, it doesnt sound unreasonable. Its what I would do if I was Malcolm right now.

its a shame Jari has fallen over and grazed his knees again, he could of been on for a win in Finland.

I agree with Mikkola, Henning was not quoted as saying he wants a BP Ford Works car, he just said he wants a "proper car". The heading of this article is just Crash trying to stir people up. Otherwise known as trolling :P

Nick and Mikkola,

I agree with your theories, as I mentioned above,

I think that Henning has meerly said that If he had a proper Factory Focus with testing he could beat Danni in Finland. There is nothing wrong with that.

I think what has confused things is that if you look on this wrc page with all the stories, at the top, Crash.net has added a title which says Henning is eyeing the factory seat of Jari Matti.

Thats what has gotten us all thinking that he is after a seat with the BP team at the cost of Jari Matti.

Just throwing this out there but how would Chris Atkinson go in a Focus. He showed last year he had the beating of Petter in equal cars and as you are all saying you would like to see petter in the focus, would atko not be better???
