Matt, sayin you are confident you will be world champion is like telling a joke, it has made me smile. You are not fast enough to be a world champ. Colin had it from day one, you my friend, do not.

Crash, what a cracking headline ! Manna fron heaven for regulars on this forum.

Firstly, Matt is NOT 'the leading British driver of his generation' by any stretch of the imagination. Think Kris Meeke for one, Mark Higgins and Guy Wilks would take exception to that.

Secondly, he IS only in the WRC because of who his father is.

Thirdly, your right he has been consistent. Consistently, 7th, thats why he is 7th in the championship.

Fourth, the critism wasn't at the start of your career, it is here and now.

Fifth, are you mentioning the 5 year plan for a laugh ? Next year is year 5 !!!

Sixth, I for one, can't see where you've improved or developed.

To finish off, you've had far more opportunity than any other young driver ever, and you don't even look like getting near to the podium, let alone challenging for wins, during what most people agree is the weakest period for the WRC, which is bereft of the strong line up of good drivers it had 8 or 9 years ago.

Now your talking about needing another 4 or 5 years, so it's become a 10 year plan.

Move over, let someone else have a crack at it.

Colin may have been 27 but he didn't need 5 full years in the championship before he won it.

Matthew has progressed considerably during his sort time in WRC. For this reason alone I feel a title charge in 2010 is highly likely. Given Matthews raw pace and speed I don't see why he shouldn't be dicing with Sebastien and Mikko for Title honors next year. Give him time 5 years is not enough. Next year along side Mikko, they will hopefully set out to Win the title.

Bloody hell, this is bad news.

I'd better retire off to F1, if Matthew's coming on stream.

Would have liked to win a 10th title in 2015, but looks like Matthew's name is on it.

If averages 6th next season, 5th in 2011, 4th in 2012, 3rd in 2013 and 2nd in 2014, he wil average 1st and win in 2015.

Im happy to wait till the end of the 5 year plan before I start judging Matt. His Dad is Malcolm Wilson !!! Im confident Malcolm has a whole lot to do with Matts progress and is the one directing the 5 year plan. I may not have much respect for Matt's skill right now, but I have MASSIVE respect for Malcolm and trust that he knows what he is doing.
