Matt Wilson has started 59 WRC rallies in a Focus WRC. In those 59 starts the driving legend has managed 1 fourth place (Japan '07). 1 fourth place!! Just 1!

In his first 59 rallies (12 in a Saxo) Loeb had recorded 13 wins and 12 second places finishes.

It took Colin McRae only 37 WRC rallies to win a world championship.

Wilson is a disgrace to Ford, Stobart, MSA Elite Programme and Britain.

what the article should say is "Wilson heads into Rally GB having scored just 25 points which is 59 less than leader hirvonen who is driving the same car

It's interesting to note before Australia Matt said he was aimming for a podium this year, that has obviously been revised to 5th.

Without going down the road of bad-mouthing Matt (which is really easy to do), realistically 5th isn't possible (apart from retirement). It's not likely he will beat Loeb, Sordo, Hirvonen, Latvala or Solberg. And he also will have trouble beating Ostberg, Solberg(H) and Ogier.

I really hope he does get a top 5 result or better. I will be cheering him on as our sole representative in WRC. Cant see it happening though. Sorry...

You lot are pathetic. You slag him off for getting everything handed to him on a plate then slate him when he shows a bit of ambition. Should he not try? The guy is putting the work in and yeah ok, maybe he's not got the talent necessary to cut it in the end, but he's not nearly as bad as many of you say.
I'm a proud Brit and I'll be down there supporting him this week. It's just a shame that people like you won't get behind him 'cos whether you like it or not, he's all we've got right now. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Stobart team was clearly built for him. He's not occupying somebody else's seat, without him there would be no team and the WRC would be worse of for that.

From everything I hear about him, some of which comes from people a lot closer to him than I imagine most of you are, he works hard, he trains hard, he is a genuine, down-to-earth guy, he doesn't take his position for granted and all he wants is to do the best he can. Doesn't sound like a disgrace to me. People who sit in front of their computers making annoymous attacks on someone they don't know because they are jealous of the opportunity he's been give in life however...
It's not his fault the WRC is in a terrible state. It's not his fault there aren't any drives around for all of these other incredible British drivers you keep saying should replace him. He's just an easy target for you
