Sebastien Ogier secures eighth place in your vote to find the top driver from the 2009 WRC season
Having clinched the 2008 JWRC title,
Sebastien Ogier was expected to make an impression on the main championship in 2009 after
Citroen promoted the young Frenchman to its Junior Team for his first full year at WRC level.
Ogier suffered a difficult start to the season at the wheel of his C4 WRC and managed to pick up just five points from the first six events – retiring in both Cyprus and Italy.
Things took a turn for the better on one of the classic WRC events in Greece however when Ogier mastered tough conditions to finish second to
Mikko Hirvonen – his best result of the year.
Although he retired in both Poland and in Great Britain, there were three further points finishes before the end of the year and the Frenchman now needs to match his speed to consistency in 2010.
That season will see Ogier again return with the
Citroen Juniors but with a high-profile team-mate in the shape of ex-F1 title winner Kimi Raikkonen.
