Matthew Wilson will miss the second round of the
World Rally Championship season in Sweden after suffering a suspected broken ankle in a training fall.
Wilson was fell running in the Lake District when he suffered the fall and was taken to hospital for assessment.
Early indications have suggested a broken left ankle that will rule him out of the Swedish event, with the Go Fast Energy
World Rally Team dropping to a single car for the rally as a result.
“It looks as though I've broken and dislocated my left ankle so, unfortunately, that means no Rally Sweden for me,” Wilson said. “I was really looking forward to Sweden.
“We were a lot more prepared for this rally [than we had been for Rallye Monte-Carlo] and we would have been looking for a good result. I'm absolutely gutted.”
Solberg will head into the event fresh from a second place finish on Rally Finnskog,
