Loeb haemorrhages time

Citroen's Sebastien Loeb has slipped further out of contention on Rally Sweden following an off in SS7.

Loeb, who had already given away precious time this morning when he incurred a 10-second penalty for leaving service late, was on a charge this afternoon in his Citroen DS3 WRC and he started with the quickest time in SS6, moving him up from fourth to third overall. However in the next test, the repeat-run through the 7.10 km Kirkener stage, he went off and got stuck in a snow bank at the second corner. That incident cost him almost 2 minutes and he now slips to eleventh overall.

Loeb's team-mate, Mikko Hirvonen meanwhile remains in the lead, 1.1 seconds up on Jari-Matti Latvala pre-SS8. Mads Ostberg is third, followed by Petter Solberg and Dani Sordo.
