Loeb aiming for Acropolis win

22 May 2012

Citroen number one driver Sebastien Loeb has set his sights on winning the Acropolis Rally this weekend.

Loeb took his third win of the season - and the 70th of his WRC career - last time out in Argentina, a result that allowed him to increase his lead in the Drivers' Championship from just four points to 18.

The Frenchman is now keen to strengthen his position at the top of the standings and having won twice in Greece already, once with the Xsara WRC in 2005 and once with the C4 WRC in 2008, he will be out to 'complete the series' with the DS3 WRC this Sunday.

“The Acropolis is a multi-faceted rally: some stages are on very smooth and quick roads. Others, however, are littered with rocks which are not kind to the suspension. Depending on the heat, tyre management can have a major impact on the outcome of the race,” Loeb warned.

“Often, the time set on a single stage isn't that significant. You need to look at the result for the entire loop before starting to draw any conclusions.

“Obviously, I'll be aiming to win. I had the potential to win in 2011 and I am determined to do so this year!”
