Stars from the past to appear at Rally Germany
Legends to star in German support event
A number of rallying legends are to compete in the historic rally that will run alongside the latest round of the World Rally Championship in Germany next weekend.

Stig Blomqvist will drive an Audi Sport Quattro E2, Bjorn Waldegaard will be at the wheel of a Mercedes 450 SLC and Jacky Ickx will pilot a Porsche 4x4 Dakar in the Histo Rally.

The cars will appear on Friday and Saturday after the WRC and domestic German championship cars have completed the stages and will appear on the morning sections of the Mittel-mosel, Moselland, Grafschaft, Stein & Wein, Peterberg and Arena Panzerplatte special stages.

Sunday will also see former F1 racer Patrick Friesacher demonstrate a Red Bull NASCAR machine in a special demonstration, with one rally fan able to win the chance to be in the passenger seat.

The car will be on show in the service park for the remainder of the weekend.

“I look forward to the ADAC Rallye Deutschland,” clerk of the course Armin Kohl said. “In this anniversary year we have managed to include more highlights among the supporting events than ever. From the Histo Rally, to the Deutsche Rallye-Meisterschaft, to the NASCAR show run – there is some action on and off the Special Stages to be caught for any motor sport fan.”
