Citroen eager to maintain Kubica links
Citroen says it hopes to work with Robert Kubica again in future after the Polish racer completed his two events at the wheel of a C4 WRC.

The former BMW Sauber and Renault F1 driver took victory on Rally di Como on his first outing in the car and then looked set for a dominant success on Rallye du Var at the weekend before a late accident forced him into retirement.

The two appearances were the latest by Kubica as he continues to recover from the injuries he sustained in an accident early last year in the Ronde di Andora Rally.

While it remains to be seen if he is ever able to make a return to single-seaters, a switch to rallying could be one possible option for Kubica in future and Citroen team boss Yves Matton said he would welcome the chance to work with the Pole again.

“Although the experience didn't turn out quite as we had all hoped [on Rallye du Var], we are happy to have supported Robert Kubica in his return to rallying,” he said.

“He is an engaging character and we hope that we'll have other opportunities to see him drive a Citroen.”

@shaken

I'd agree. I think most people accept he won't be back in F1 but he could have a successful career in rallying and would be a welcome addition.
