WRC2: Brynildsen inks 2013 deal
9 January 2013
Eyvind Brynildsen has confirmed a partnership with DMACK and Autotek Motorsport to compete in this year's inaugural WRC2 series.
The 24-year-old Norwegian will use a Ford Fiesta RRC in a traditional DMACK livery for his first event at Rally Sweden in February and will revert to a new R5 specification Fiesta once it is launched later this season.
Brynildsen will join Jari Ketomaa, who has helped DMACK develop an all-new studded winter tyre, and Martin Prokop as a DMACK supported driver on the only true snow event of the season.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I'm really looking forward to the competition and challenge that the WRC2 championship will offer,” he said. “DMACK and Autotek have a successful history together so it will be great to join them, and Jari Ketomaa, in Sweden. This is an event where I started my WRC career and I can't wait to get this programme off to a good start in Sweden."
Dick Cormack, DMACK motorsport director, said he was pleased with the announcement that another driver would be joining the DMACK fold.
"Eyvind is an exciting young driver who has shown speed on all surfaces in the world rally championship and we're really happy to have him join the team,” he said.
“WRC2 is looking like it could be a strong championship this year and, with our recent improvements in performance and new range of tyres for this season, we're sure that DMACK will appeal to many of its competitors."
