McCoy returns with Triumph.

The Australian's last full world championship campaign was with Foggy Petronas in 2005, which he finished just 23rd in the points, before the 'Slide King' reappeared in MotoGP with Ilmor at the tail end of 2006.

McCoy was then overlooked in favour of Jeremy McWilliams and Andrew Pitt for Ilmor's ill-fated 2007 MotoGP campaign, but looks set to be back in world championship racing next season with the new Caracchi-run Triumph team.

On the first day of the Qatar test, McCoy put the 675 triple 3.7secs behind fastest man Broc Parkes on its WSS debut, with team-mate Paul Young a further five seconds slower.

Great to see Gazza back.... give him a decent bike and team and a fair go he will kick pommy butt back to the dark ages!
One of the greatest 500 racers of the modern era. McCoy made Rossi look positively average...
As do all the Aussies really given a decent ride! ;)
