Sofuoglu bruised but 'OK' after accident

Kenan Sofuoglu has come away with nothing but bruising following a terrifying looking accident at the start of the second race at Vallelunga.

Sofuoglu was the innocent victim when Max Biaggi got out of shape at the high-speed kink following the home straight, the Sterilgarda Ducati high-siding across the circuit and into the path of the Turk.

Although the collision took place at a sickening pace, causing Sofuoglu to be flung over the handlebars and sent careering a considerable distance on his back, he has come away with heavy bruising, but no broken bones.

Destroying his Ten Kate Honda in the process, Sofuoglu admits the crocked shoulder he was carrying before the race will certainly feel sore on Monday...

"The first crash was my mistake and I was very sorry because the bike was good in warm-up and I was looking forward to the races,” he said after also coming together with Karl Muggeridge in the first race.

"In race two, I just felt a bump and then I was flying. The shoulder I damaged at Donington is sore and my back will hurt tomorrow, but otherwise I'm OK."

Biaggi also escaped serious injury.
