WSS: Harms set to remain in Supersport

Robbin Harms looks set to remain in the World Supersport Championship in 2009 after revealing he has penned a deal to race for Team Veidec next season.

Harms was left on the sidelines when Stiggy Motorsport, the team he competed for in 2008, revealed he would not be included in either their Superbike or Supersport projects next season.

As such, Harms told Danish website TV 2 Sporten that he will switch to the Swedish-backed Veidec team, who will enter a Honda for him next season.

"It is a very professional team,” he said. “The goal is to finish inside the top five of each race and I really feel I can do that. Overall, the goal is to finish in the top three, which I think is realistic.

"The team is ready for me to enter,” he added.” They have built a package for me to be the number one rider. It is me who will set the standard in the team,"

Harms has been a Supersport frontrunner for some time, although he is yet to mount a serious title challenge. Most recently, Harms was classified ninth overall in the 2008 standings with a best result of third in Australia.
