WSS: Benjan overhauled, enters three for '09

Benjan Racing will assume a new identity in 2009 after unveiling their World Supersport plans include three riders and a major new sponsor.

The team, which ran Jesco Günther and Gianluca Vizziello under the Benjan Honda banner in 2008, will undergo a transformation next season after re-signing Günther, as well as adding Robbin Harms and Arie Vos to their line-up.

Danish rider Harms comes to the team, which is provisionally known as Veidec Honda, after enjoying decent success at Suprsport level over the last few years, most notably with Stiggy Honda.

Vos, who completed a wild-card WSBK ride at Assen earlier this year, is a multiple Dutch Superbike Champion.

In addition to their three-bike line-up, the team revealed a new sponsor in the shape of RES Software, which has enjoyed great success recently as the title backer for the Hoegee Suzuki team.

With strong riders and a good sponsor on board, team manager Milan Milovanovic is confident 'Veidec Honda' will prove a formidable force in 2009.

"It is a great honour to collaborate with a highly esteemed sponsor as RES Software in the upcoming season. The company has got a lot of experience into motorsports and worked together with some prominent teams in the World Championship.

“This agreement is a big step forward for the team and with the sponsors RES Software and Veidec, and riders Robbin Harms and Arie Vos we managed to create a good basis for the future and we get ready for a fantastic 2009 season."

The team will begin testing later this month.
