WSBK » BMW to join World Superbike in 2009

It looks like the World Superbike paddock is the place to be, with Triumph joining the WSS ranks in 2008 and now BMW have announced plans for a WSBK entry from 2009.

Passing will be interesting, the boxer flicking half a meter left at hard acceleration gear-up...or was it right...let´s take it on the brakes instead... :p

My understanding is that the bike will have a 4 cylinder engine (again from www.roadracingworld.com)

Perhaps related is the new HP2 Sport (see http://www.bmwmccvic.org.au/content/view/121/36/). There may be some bits on this DOHC boxer that make it into WSBK.

They've shown pics of the bike testing in MCN ages ago (ridden by Jeremy McWilliams)... it's a 4 cylinder bike and looks sweet!

The more the merrier, gutted not to see the MV's next year...least triumph are joining the supersport but as i say...more manufacturers please :)
