Nothing wrong with BMW and they have plenty of road racing history, infact more than KTM.

Good luck to both teams, good to have them on board

WSBK » KTM to join World Superbike paddock

KTM launched the all new 1190 RC8 yesterday at the Milan Motorcycle show, making it the first Austrian made Superbike. They intend to field the aggressive looking machine in European Superstock with a view to stepping up to Superbike in the future.

Now then, back on my very high horse.
as i said in previous write-ups and with lots of banter with other folk. BMW NO! but KTM now that would be good,
I predict better results for KTM rather than BMW, I still think that BMW in world supers is just a funny pro-mo joke they carn't be serious, can they........

BMW don't do things by half, and they certainly haven't entered to run around at the back of the pack. They're not building a brand new in-line 4 for the benefit of their health.

As Brendan says, Good luck to both, Good to have them both.

Maybe not new plant but new bike... there has been some drawing of that bike. Bayerische Motoren Werke has the ability to produce package which works.

I wish KTM the best of luck but looking at the bike's specs, the Japanese and the Italians have them beat easily and I expect the Germans will too.

didnt KTM promise the most powerful v-twin ever made?

Is this it? a bike that makes 113kW(~155hp) and weights 188kg without fuel, at the same time Ducati revealed their new v-twin bike, that makes 132.4kW(~180hp) and weights 165kg without fuel

BMW have been very successful in recent years - they are the only manufacturer to win every round of the Boxer Cup!!! :)
