Good grief - 3.7 and 5 seconds off the pace. Is this a serious effort by Triumph?

Supersport is shaping up good next year with experienced riders in Walker and Mccoy joining the ranks. Just hope the triumph doesnt take too long to get up to speed otherwise Mccoy may be having more years like he did with Petronas and Kawasaki Moto GP filling the back of the grid. As long as he can light up the rear he should be good. ;)

CRAP TEAM CRAP RIDER,
i dont know whether or not the triumph will be able to cut the mustard but McCoy is not going to help the situation, its going to turn to s.h.i.t.e. i have no idea why people keep giving McCoy a chance!!!!!

Ouch! 8.7 seconds off the pace! Jeez-o

I like Paul Young and I'm glad he's finally getting a chance to ride for a funded team on the Triumph after 2 years of doing it all himself but 8.7s you have to e concerned about that, even on an over 2 minute lap.
Let's hope this was just a one off and that he can do better.
"Come on Youngy!" :) :)

I'm afraid I have to agree with 'zx9'....mccoy was finished when the 500's were still running round the worlds tracks.
I don't think anyone knows more about the 675's than 'youngy'...can't see him setting the world on fire but great news for 675 track time. Dean.

of course everybody loved 'gazza' in the 500 GP class, he was one of the most
exciting racers with his lurid slides! But those 'glory days' seem like
ancient history now, he was a backmarker with the kawasaki & ilmor & now
looks like an also ran w/ triumph. hampered by injuries throughout his
career & his style never translated to the 4-strokes (didn't do a whole lot
w/Ducati in WSBK).

I'm a bit surprised by peoples comments about McCoy - seemed to me he was one of the first riders to take it too Rossi, and on a bike that was not considered a winner at the time. Unfortunately recuring injury seemed to get in the way after that, as did his options for riding a bike. I guess we're all entitled to our opinions, but mononuke is clearly wrong about McCoy's time on the Ducati in WSBK. He was the last winner (from memory) on a privateer Ducati until Xaus managed it again this year. He was certainly the last winner on a Carachi Ducati and the only rider to consistently take it to the factory bikes on a privateer machine. I'm sure with time he will do the same on the Triumph.

yeah matty g, i apologize if my post seemed to 'rip' gazza, it was not
my intention to do so. As i mentioned, he was one the most exciting riders
on 2-strokes. But please, do not add your revisionist history to obsfucate matters.
The year gary mccoy was in WSBK was one of the weakest fields in recent
memory. bayliss, hodgson, & xaus were in MotogGp, Corser was riding the petronas, & Vermeulen's rookie season, & the Japanese manufacturers abandoned WSBK after a dispute
with FGSport. So it was pretty much a 'ducati cup' & yes mccoy did win a race and
did achieve 3 podiums the entire season. but he finished 6th w/ 199 pts in a depleted
field of riders.
