I feel really sorry for Max, but I also don't blame Checa for trying. The race doesn't end until the cheqered flag and it wasn't a million miles away from the Rossi/Gibernau last corner clash at Jerez in 2005...

Again, Max didn't deserve to be caught up in it. In an 'ideal' world Checa would either have made the pass safely and been a hero, or fallen on his own without bringing Max down.

Both riders deserved to win in my eyes.

"all those officials in race control just need Tivo in their control tower!"

Well, the race was in Spain. I guess the stewards didn't want a riot. A few years ago, Hopkins overshot his breaking at the first turn and took out several riders. He was penalized a two race suspension because one of the riders complained to the stewards; Checa. He is a poor sportsman and he proved it again yesterday.

"Team boss defended Carlos"

What does expect more? If he blames in front of Public, how he can manage his relationship with him?

But as a boss I prefer to get points to see like an absurd crash! I' m sure that Carlos agree with me but he could not control himself when crowd supporting him crazy!!!

Anyway if many people writes on him then PR facility is OK!!! Come on Carlos

Carlos,
thank you for your totally unrealistic undertaking move. Max took a tight line. Your took an impossible line.

You have ensured that Troy Bayliss has almost an unassailable lead in the championship.

Ten Kate must be very proud of you.

While i can understand the drive to secure your maiden win in front of a home crowd, what i cannot understand is, as a MOTO GP VETERAN, you would let emotion cloud your judgment at a critical time when you could have A.taken the points and accolades for a hard fought run to to second place or B. tried to use corner speed and draft down the front straight to win. The bottom line is that the move was ill advised and stupid when you look at the cost long term (a possible championship contender injured and lost points and a respectable rider's credentials seriously tainted. While we racers understand that our sport isnt ballet its definitely not NASCAR either! Riders please respect the sport.

There was no way that pass was on, Checa was crazy. Neukirchner deserved the win. I also think that these motogp rejects like Checa and Biaggi are super arrogant with their riding and don't care about bumping off other riders, just like this incident and a handful from biaggi, including one on Haga last year (which cost him the championship) and again on Haga in Qatar.

as a spectator i look at carlos's move and say what the hell was he thinking but as a rider i understand the chances you take in these situations but i agree with Marc he should apologise to Max because if you look carefully max closed the door so there wouldnt be a passing situation and carlos still went for it with the obious lack of control of the bike

Any real racer in the same situation would have gone for it, these things happen. Its a real shame Max missed out on his win and also got injured.if he had a go and ran wide he would have been a hero that tried, if he made it he would have been a superstar, as it happens he didn't and hes getting slated for it... and if you didn't expect him to have a crack then you obviously have never watched any competetive motorsport before! Maybe there is some curling on tv you should go and watch, keep that heart rate down :p

Checa did not perform in a professional manner. I would expect that kind of move at a club race or a NASCAR race. At the least he should be disqualified form any points in that race. We've seen this before.

R. Ten Kate: You say, "any rider would have tried to pass in this corner". Thats true. But the difference between smart ones and Checas is, that the others can calculate the risk- you saw JT ride for two years for your colours and you should know about that difference!

Make an excuse to the Alstare team would have shown sportsmanship instead of trying to excuse a stupid thing. Pretty disappointing.

Carlos C.: You have been "narrowly ahead and then Neukirchner made a move"???

Yes, you are right, the pope is evangelic and Britney Spears was the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature last year.

When you and Biaggi are doing gardening in the near future nobody will miss you.
