please, 2009 awaits??

what awaits him is a rude awakening, the weather here is colder than the first brands quali in bsb and they are all having to run race tyres, no one has run a quali yet, when they run quali tyres and if the wether picks up, i guess that the times will make the bsb boys look agricultural.

nitro, i beleive shakey is a good rider, but not a great one, kiyo is much better, lavilla is much better and there are better riders in bsb, put them all on the same bike, under fair rules and shakey would be the same as last year, average.

unless he knocks everbody else off a la harris that is.

Ahhh yes. I rest my case. On that performance (1.25.898) from Bayliss, Mr Byrne would have been on provisional pole even with his Brands GP qualifying time from April this year of 1.25.832. Had he have been here running a full WSBK spec F08 I'm sure he''d have been quicker still. Shakey... you were robbed mate !! 2009 awaits...

Yes, 2009 awaits, and no, it's not colder. It's 22 degrees today (and that's where I am in Kent, not track temp at Brands). It definitely wasn't hotter than that in April mate. Remember it rained and then snowed a few hours after final qualifying. "When they run quali tyres..." Well then you can't compare that to Byrne qualifying on race tyres in April on a brand new F08 with 'standard' pistons, 500rpm less than the Xerox bikes and 5 months less development can you !!! The comparison is what I have already made - similar conditions, and Byrne was marginally quicker in April on an inferior bike to Bayliss today. Qualifying tyres don't come into it. Everyone generally goes quicker with...

tyres designed to last no more than a lap. Think about it !!! So would Byrne if he'd been running WSBK spec qualifiers. And don't you think Kiyonari has had a 'rude awakening' in his maiden WSBK year ? He hasn't even found the podium yet, so why should it be any different for Shakey ? If Byrne had been given a chance on a 3rd Xerox F08 with qualifiers, he'd have been on pole, no doubt. And that's nothing to do with 'Brands being his back yard'. It isn't - he's lived in Zurich for the last 4 years and has competed at Brands under race conditions no more often than Bayliss, Haga etc... so how can he know the place any better ?

What today shows is that on tracks that the BSB and ex-BSB riders know (Kiyonari and Brands) they can take it to the WSBK regulars no problem, so once Kiyonari, Rea, Byrne etc... have some experience of the WSBK tracks, provided they have decent machinery, they have every chance of being competitive. If Byrne is so average, why has Tardozzi gone on record to say that Bayliss's seat in 2009 is realistically now a toss up between Byrne and Biaggi (Vermeulen being an unlikely long shot) ?

Exactly. Sykesy is doing us proud. Just proves my point that Byrne would have been quicker still and pushing Bayliss for pole.

Nothing to get over Zappa - Byrne still has a quicker time than Bayliss this year around Brands GP on an inferior machine and similar tyres. Simple as that...

Zappa, who exactly is 'Shaky Burn' out of interest ? Is he some Rastafarian bike-riding arsonist you've been watching ?

'...so get over it,we in 2008 now' ? What sort of English is that ? Have you heard of proof reading at all, before clicking 'Submit Comment' ?
