Please be very careful what you say about Craig, as he is fighting for his life and his family, friends need to know we are all sending our love and best wishes at this extremely difficult time. He is a great sportsman and a great human being my own kids adore him and are at Brands Hatch at this time and are extremely upset, so less debate and critiscism and respect all those close to him.

Gaz are you nuts!? Of course he should be in the results. Had it been your run-of-the-mill crash that he walked away from, he still would have gotten second. The only difference would have been if he was healthy enough for a restart, we would not have been allowed to as seen after the first red flag. The last lap completed at the time the red flag was thrown is the results you end up with.

All the best to Craig and hopes that he is okay. Those were the most disturbing images I've ever seen during a race.

Just heard on Eurosport that he's regained consciousness. Looked like Pitty actually hit his head as Jones was on the floor. Sickening crash...

BikeSportNews dot com are advising that Craig is badly injured and has been airlifted to hospital and they will update us as soon as they have more information. Craig writes for BikeSportNews and they are very close to him.

This was a very fast crash not helped as Craig was clipped by Pitt, however I thought the incident was extremely badly handled by the live TV feed. They should have cut the shot much sooner than they did - Craig's friends and family do not need to see him helpless with bikes heading towards him at horrific speeds. Was the director not wanting to miss any subsequent crash that may have occurred as a result? Very bad call Mr Director.

Get well soon Jonesy, T x

Must agree with you Toe. He was lying in the middle of the track, and although not on the racing line, could have been even worse. Bad call from the director

Unfortunately BikeSport have just posted this latest:-

By David Miller

Britain's Craig Jones has been airlifted to hospital following a massive highside in this afternoon's World Supersport race at Brands Hatch.

The Parkalgar Honda man was dicing with Jonathan Rea for the lead then the rear tyre of his CBR600RR let go at Clark Curve and he was thrown across the track.

3.55PM: We have just been informed that Craig is in a pharmacological coma and is being transferred to the nearest neurological unit after suffering a severe cranial trauma.

The result of the race is curently sub-judice.
