Good on ya Max.
You have proven to be competitive in WSB and deserve a good factory ride.
You have shown respect for all other WSB contenders so back off all the Mrs Doubtfires.

WSBK » Biaggi courts Ducati Xerox

Max Biaggi confirms he'd like to ride for Ducati Xerox next season, in place of the retiring Troy Bayliss, but says he's had no direct contact with the factory team.

No, no, no...Biaggi's had his chance at factory level and i think he has idea's above his station.

I don't think he has what it takes to be a WSB champion, he is up and down the leader board like a *****s knickers.

Lets get some youngblood into WSB, or else it will be in danger of turning into an retirement ground for has been GP exiles.

I think the factories shuld be looking at bringing over the top two riders in the championships from BSB, AMA, Japan, WSS to breathe some new life into WSB.

Fair enough Raw Dawg. Not totally unprecedented then, but hardly a regular affair either - twice in the last 7 years.

Raw Dawg - Tamada won as a wildcard too, and i think more people hae.
I think u guys are overrating Byrne, sure he s good , but it d be hardnot to win this year at bsb on a duke. And he s not even winning the races by that much, he s being consistent.
Biaggi hasnt won a title in 11 years. He deserved the title more last year than this year. The Ducati policy of favouring factory and impeding thesatellite teams certain weekends hasnt helped either.

Whats the point of recruiting new blood when they consitantly gets crushed by the "Old retirement ground guys". And even if they ride satelite bikes, they should at least be competitive for a victory or two. I say, let the new young guys start in private teams and if they are any good they will get noticed and maybe get a factory ride for next year.

world chump - there may have been more winners, but there are very very few that have done a double at a circuit as tough as Brands. Look at Byrne's qualifying times for BSB Brands on an inferior bike compared to the WSB Superpole record. Not much in it is there ?

Byrne may not be winning by much, but his starts aren't often great, which is why he spends half the race catching up the leaders. Additionally, once you've caught and passed them, and there are only a few laps left, why would you continue to ride flat out like your ar5e was on fire with worn tyres and risk crashing if your pit board is telling you that you've got the situation under control ? Beats me !!

sure, he s doing good now ... but where was he on the 4cyl?

plus, brands is a tough track to learn. look who won this weekend there. and bsb bikes at brands ... i dont think there is much difference between those and the wsb bikes at this certain circuit.
finally, superpole s one thing. but in the race, with a twin , if u get tangled up, it s harder to make fast laptimes, look at the trouble biaggi and xaus have when htey have a poor start.
i just dont think shakey would do too good at wsb, that s all. he d be up there , sure, but doubt he d win many races.

It would be great to see Biaggi on the Ducati factory team. Even though he got injured this year he has shown that he has the ability and determination. He's on a privateer team and while yes I'm sure they get decent support from the factory they don't get everything they need as fast at the factory guys. You also forget this is his first year on a twin (Ducati) after several years on 4 cyl machinery. Plus it's only his second year in WSB. While Yamaha or Aprilia is a thought I'd like to see him on the Factory Ducati team or back in MotoGP on a decent team.

Biaggi might be the likely choice but i dont think hes the best choice. Shane is an awesome choice and if Honda releases Neil because of the DMG fiasco he would be my first choice. Other wise the 2009 title is going to be between Biaggi, Corser and Haga. Biaggi and Haga will win races but Corser will take the title because hes consistent like Bayliss. I dont think it will matter that the BMW is new. Corser will make it work just like the suzuki. Thats is he takes the BMW job. If he stays with Yamaha then Haga will win. The R1 is not suited to him like Haga.

Anyhoo Shane should get the job or at least the #2 seat.
