Extraordinary!
Haga is a good guy but he is past his best and far too inconsistent. He will never win a championship.
And Fabrizio ... a Lanzi clone only getting another chance because he is Italian.
Are Ducati nuts :?

What a load of tripe Legimate is saying. The only prima donna in the sport is Max Biaggi. Neither Honda nor Yamaha will work with him again due to his bad treatment of their teams when when rode for them in Motogp.

By the way haga only lost the World Championship by 2 points, not 1 or 3, to James Toseland.

As for Haga starting the season in June, it is not only him, his teammate Corser has been the same because the Yamaha Italia team have been slack. Last year they had a new bike and it was eating the rear tyre up so much, it was completely gone by half distance in races and they went backwards for 3 rounds or 6 races, which was unacceptable by the team. Go Nori!!!!

I think it is great that Noriyuki Haga will race for Ducati Xerox next season. He has proved in 2003 that he can ride a twin with 3rd in the championship, but would have won, had his team prepared he engine properly, as he had at least 3 or 4 engine failures in the season, most while leading the race. Yeah he broke a gear lever once or twice in practice, never in the race, it was always the bike that failed him.

Why should Biaggi get the ride, he has a Ducati and can't be at the front consistently and has crashed loads this year.

Anyway good luck Haga for the races at Donington starting in a minute.

I like Haga, but that is an idiotic decision. All Ducati's recent WSB champions have been the fittest riders in the field with a fanatical work ethic. Haga lacks both those things as well as being inconsistent.

@ Wesley

WSBK 2007 Rider Standings:

Toseland finished with 415 pts
Haga finished with 413 pts

Therefore Haga lost the world championship by 3 points! If Nori had tied JT at 415, JT would have won the WC by virtue of his 8 total wins as opposed to Nori's 6.

It's about time the has beens like Haga were shipped out of WSB. Been there done nothing would have a job holding down a place in a club team (if that does't get'm going nowt will!).
No, honestly, I don't think Haga is the man for the Ducati seat to follow Bayliss, but if he does get it good luck to him and I hope whatever Max Biaggi is on he creams Haga (shouldn't be difficult).

what a load of garbage being spewed in this thread, tonyed is talking such ass i can smell him from here. Haga is one of the greatest superbike riders that ever lived, the man will always be a fan favourite for his eclectic and mesmerising performances he gives his all no matter what he rides , the man will ride the wheels of anything be it a twin a four or anything else for that matter. He has had success on twins before cue Aprillia/Renegade Ducati. True he is inconsistent and that has been his downfall as he would be a double sbk champ by now but he has also suffered his fair share of bad luck.Rated by all his peers as bayliss once said "nori is invincible on his day,the pros pro"

Is this an attempt by Ducati to break into the Japanese market? could be very wise move to move Haga in and also to keep Shakey in the UK to win the title. I think, as for racing, this is a veyr surprising move but the real question should be why are they keeping Fabrizio in the team?

he wont win anything if he rides like he did today, for a rider of his experience and skill some of his actions today were unacceptable.
