Extraordinary!
Haga is a good guy but he is past his best and far too inconsistent. He will never win a championship.
And Fabrizio ... a Lanzi clone only getting another chance because he is Italian.
Are Ducati nuts :?

Nori has given us excitement and thrills for 10 years now. He is one of the reasons that WSB has not become a sterile procession around the track.
I for one don''t blame him for going to Ducati, he gets a bike that has been developed over the last 12 months instead of a "New 09" R1 that will be developed over the first 1/2 of next season.
I watched him going under the Dunlop Bridge yesterday monrning 170mph in the wet, would I do that and take a paycut to finance Rossi''s outstanding tax bill no ''kin way!
so IMHO Ducati want a flambouyant rider who will give 110% and Haga wants a team that is 110% serious, if this deal comes off Nori has EARNED it. So to all you Haga doubters :p

Can't believe this, my mate called me down by the old hairpin to tell me about the rumour and i've just got back to find it's nearly a done deal. I'm a big Yamaha fan as well as a diehard Nori fan and i've got to say that i'm shocked!
Get all the hipocrite comments out now peeps cos if he signs for them i'm gonna be the biggest one you ever met! Extra 200cc for the Duke? Well my previous thoughts are well documented, ask me after he signs and i won't see a problem with it as i so want to see Nori get a champioship. He's got a few years left riding aty the top level although this weekends display has to be the poorest i've ever seen by him....

Don't forget it's not the first time Haga has been a Ducati man, he rode for the Koji Renegade Ducati team in the 2004 WSBK Championships. 6 wins that year and finished 3rd in the championships behind the 2 factory bikes of Toseland and Laconi.

I don't know what was going on but he just wasn't himself and leaving oil on the track like that wasn't right. Anyhow back on topic :) I wonder if Bayliss has had anything to do with this recommendation-wise? Him and Nori are best mates and we know that neither of them are fond of the bearded one that is No 3 lol. Biaggi will be spitting feathers if he doesn't get that ride.
Go #41!

Haga's talent is in no doubt, having won on an aging YZF750,the R7,the 999 and the R1 on Dunlops,Michelins and Pirelli's you cannot argue he's not talented. His commitment to racing is questionable, the other year he took his training too seriously and looked positively anorexic by Nori's standards, maybe Yamaha bosses are soft on him,its something that CE had said years ago that when you finished second for Yamaha they were all'well you did your best' but finishing second with Honda, they were more'WTF didn't you win?' Haga needs management if he's to succeed,he's a natural racer in the vain of a Anthony Gobert, supremely talented but lacking the final push for glory,Tardozzi won't ...

bite his lip if he's not happy with Nori's results. Tardozzi might play his favourites after they've outstayed their welcome in factory colours(Lanzi,Fabrizio) but he'll be sure to kick Nori up the **** if he's slacking

Was v. disappointed with Haga's performance and attitude yesterday. I'm a huge fan but he should defnitely be fined for the oil-spilling incident, absolutely no excuse for that.

In general it did seem that he just wasn't very bothered at all, which might lend some weight to the Ducati deal being more or less complete. Still no excuse though, he should still be giving it his all.

Nori V Max : In terms of British fans I suspect that it is Nori. I was at Donington yesterday, and when Max went onto the podium he must have though that he had been struck deaf, it was so quiet that I could hear a bloke 10 rows back in the grandstand clearly say "Tosser". (Max then realised that he wasn't when Tom Sykes went onto step two and the place went mental). Nori is one of the few riders in the series who has world wide acceptance, is marketable (yes that counts) and has the experience to deliver the goods. As nice as it would be to see a Brit in the No1 Ducati seat, they are not going to let someone learn the tracks in that position. It would be brill to see Sykes as No.2 at Yam!
