Excellent news!

Max will kick Byrne's **** (if he joins) and the V4 has been running at lap record pace in testing in the hands of Robby Rolfo, so Max will make it go even quicker!

A great addition to 2009 and I wish Max all the best - GO BIAGGI - YOUR FANS LOVE YOU!

Just like the old days.............

Max Biaggi looks increasingly likely to be on his way to the Aprilia World Superbike team for 2009.

Biaggi and Byrne: Sounds like a formidable combo to get the Aprilia program up to speed quickly. It'll be nice to add a V4 to the championship too. That'll make it 8 manufacturers in WSB once (if?) KTM joins in 2010. Nine, if MV Agusta puts some of that Harley Davidson money to good use :D Look out MotoGP?

Good luck to both of them. In my memory, Aprilia haven't had much success with "larger" bikes. Sure they can do 125's and 250's, but their MotoGP bike was a dog. Here's hoping they do better this time.

The RSV Mille campaigned by Troy Corser was as competitive as any other bike - the double he scored at Valencia was one by a country mile. It was just unfortunate that the Dunlop tyre development couldn't keep up with the Michelin tyres used by the Factory Ducatis and Hondas.

I hope Max gets the Aprilia, however as Max will get the star treatment I hope Byrne isn't his partner. I would rather see Byrne at Yamaha Italia (if Corser goes to BMW).

Rolfo hasn't earned an Aprilia ride based on his poor performance in the last couple of seasons.

One million Euros doesn't sound like much - it's half what Elias was getting in 250's a few years ago - a quarter as it's probably spread over two seasons.

I think you may be confusing him with your own character traits although I doubt you've ridden anything, machine or anything else.
