EXCELLENT! :) :) :)

With Troy Bayliss retiring from Xerox Ducati I reckon the other Ducati''s will have a job
keeping up with Shakey! He knows the bike well and it suits his style.

Good on ya Shakey!

P.S. Christ! BSB''s gonna be empty at this rate! :-o

No one should feel that the BSB has been weakened by the exodus of named riders, after all what makes a named rider. A top team ride and wins/podiums and there are many capable riders who can do that given the opportunity and they will become the new names of BSB.

WSB has been good this year, but not as good as Supersports, IMHO. Both will be wicked from next year. Shame he is not on a Xerox though.

MotoGP is beginning to look like F1 with Schumacher - boring! Overtaking?

That is great news but what machinery he will be on in 2009? If only the rumours about the big-bang Yamaha and the new revison of the Gixer 1000 are true (and don't forget the other manufacturers,) Shakey's going to need a 2009 bike to stay even close to the pace. Look at how the mighty Bayliss has had to fight during the second half of the season to stay in touch with the 'old' R1. If Shakey gets Troy's hand-me-down, you know he will struggle--despite his undeniable talent. Come on Ducati! Shakey has won a hat full of races for you in his BSB career. Pull a competitive steed out of the same hat and watch him challenge at the front. I for one believe he's ready!

well done Shakey...
One rider who will be at BSB,i think???,next year will be Leon Camier. After last years horrific crash,he has come back really well.Hope he wins next years BSB and then move to WSB.
I would love to see these Brits in Moto gp instead of WSB though.

As "Racefan" said the team is good, but what bike will they give him? Will it be a proper F09, Troys old F08 with a few new bit or an RS. I believe this year they had the RS with some "Factory" bit filtering down as and when Troy was done with them, but am sure that max got the F08 bits first ! Still they are all quick bikes and Ducati will want all their bikes up front, and Shane is the one to do it, he may even be quicker then Nori to start with ???????

Can't see it being a genuine F09 somehow. That's the real story behind why Shakey wasn't allowed to wildcard at Brands and Donny - he's been running an F08 1098 Ducati in BSB that he could have probably won on twice round Brands in WSBK (without the extra 500rpm and race-spec internals that WSBK are allowed), so imagine what he'd have done if it WERE full WSBK spec. Xerox didn't want to be shown up... again !! Sterilgarda will either get F08's + 'bits' or RS09's. Looking at how close Biaggi has been this year (at times) on an RS08, the RS09 + 'bits' might be the better option next year, given that Haga will have to spend a few rounds 'adjusting' to the Duke.
