These day I dread whenever I see the name Foggy on a story. All I am wondering is who is he slagging off this time before I read it. I sometimes don't even bother reading it. He was a talented rider, there's no doubt about it but my all best of Ducati rider group is Bayliss any day.

I would like to see those stats against Rossi and the other greats in MotoGP.

FooTari, this is ********* Loeb raced against Grönholm, Solberg, Martin, Sainz and many others who are certainly better drivers overall than the lates Colin McRae (too many crashes) and Burns (too slow) and cannot be ashamed of a comparison with the previous generation of Biasion et al. You could consider that Juha Kankkunen was winning too easily, or Tommmi Mäkinen as well, but it remains that, in the Loeb years, we have seen factory involvement from Peugeot, Subaru, Ford, Skoda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai and now Suzuki, which shows how competitive the series were at the time for Loeb's factory Citroëns.

He has always dominated his teammates, even Sainz or McRae.

i think id pick carl as a rider over troy, but rather have a beer with troy anyday.

the way carl made a ducati work was brilliant, almost as good to watch as chili whos flowing style is excellent. but chili had the take the brain out Gene which is why he never won a title(tho he only ever had one factory duke-98)

they are all great really, tho i dont think moto gp or wsbk has had the strength of competition that wsbk had during that period of 96-2001.

Nice to see that Crash have lost their calculator. Rossi has competed in 8 500/motogp titles and has won 6. 6/8 = 75% NOT 66.7%!!!

Rossi has competed in 9 500cc/MotoGP championships since 2000, winning 6 and losing 3 - Crash.net.

I cheered for Carl as well when he rode the last 2 titles. But, after Bayliss rode at Monza for the first time, wow!! First time there and fighting with the leading group, man his riding style when he pull all the pins out is the best thing on earth!! Troy would have eaten Foggy for lunch, as Bayliss is good wet or dry and willing to ride hard in a greater degree then Foggy. Would have been nice to see Rossi in WSBK, I'm think Troy would have beaten him on a superbike, but we wil never know :) . And about the Pons Honda, Troy need a rougher bike than the "nice" Honda!!

Best of these three is Rossi. If you take Rossi's 125 & 250 Championships into account then he's outperformed Schu-ey in terms of championships. Even with out the lower levels he's higher in win/podium percentage if I'm not mistaken. Comparing Bayliss with Foggy is a bit tricky. If you look at straight number of championships then Foggy has him beat with 4 versus 3. Both were agressive and fun to watch. I give the edge to Bayliss because of personality, better attitude, and never die mentality. Plus he won a MotoGP race which I don't think Foggy did.

Cant we just say we are lucky to see all these motorsports great in a time where MORE people are involved in reaching the higher pinnacles of motorsport. Great riders all of them, lucky for us to see them at their best.

gin, in 2000 Rossi and Edwards were in the Honda team for the Suzuka 8-hour. When they got on the VTR Rossi was consistently about 1 second faster than Edwards. On the very same bike and tyres. If you consider that Edwards was at his best back then competing and winning races from Bayliss then it becomes very clear how Rossi compares to him and the rest of the WSBK riders.

It's the spirit, attitude and psychology (together with talent of course) that makes Rossi such a dominant figure. I doubt he'll lose them if he competes against other riders on different bikes.
