Bout time they announced this , Haga will be a hit the italians love him anyway and now that he is riding a duke it is a match made in heaven. I just hope for his sake he can start the season better than he normally does then he will definately be in with a chance for the championship, ive got no worries about nori not being able to ride the duke as haga is one of those riders that could ride any bike and ride it well.
Good luck Nori for 2009 .... i cant wait !

Nori-san rode for "Renegade Ducati" in WSBK for the 2004 season.Had the bike been reliable,he may well have won the title that year FWIW.Correct me if I am wrong.Thanks,G.

I love Nori! however I do agree with the comments of cem, up untill 2008 the WSB Ducati''s were so special and enjoyed a lot of advantages over the other manufacturers, Haga could have been 2008 WSB champion had he been more consistent, the fly in the ointment for next year could be Max Biaggi riding a bike which is firstly a race bike and secondly a road bike which is in contrast to how the Japanese manufacturers have gone about things up to now at least. Somebody should have snapped up Ant West who is a far better rider than his performances on that disgraceful Kawasaki suggest!

Marc and some others here, it is actually the M1 who has MUCH more electronics than the Ducati. If you saw the race at the worldsbk.com site you could hear Steve Martin confirms that. No other bike than the M1 of Haga and Corser has so much gizmos/electronics! Bayliss beats Haga on the last 5 laps because he is better, and because he is in better shape. Haga should train more in the winter because the Ducati is heavy and demand more strength than the M1. Shane knows the bike but not all the tracks, Haga, Biaggi, Xaus, Corser knows the tracks but not the bike, it will be interesting ye****

You sir, are speaking complete nonsense. Firstly, I find it hard to take take the comments of someone who refers to the R1 as an M1 no less than 3 times seriously. The M1 is the motogp prototype as campaigned by Rossi and co. Secondly, I too listened to Steve Martin and if memory serves he talked about the fact that the Yamaha is the only bike in the WSB paddock to be running electronic suspension. Also, since when has having the most elecrtonics made a bike the best in its field? You obviously don't remember the nail that was Aprilia's Cube MotoGP bike (ironically ridden by Haga).

And as for Bayliss being better than Haga. Well going by world titles then yes, but cont.

your opionion that Haga is unfit is wholly unjustified. Are you his personal trainer? Do you know his resting heartbeat? Does an unfit rider win 7 races in a season, 2 of which directly after said rider discloated his shoulder? Bayliss was better than Haga in that 2nd Magny Cours race, Haga was better than Bayliss at 2nd Vallalunga race. You win some, you lose some - depending on circumstance. Haga's every bit as talanted as Bayliss, if not more. His problem is his attitude at times and consistency (or lack).

cem, sorry about the M1/R1 mistype, I meant the R1 superbike and not the M1 motoGp, but you could actually figured that out!
Haga may be fit, but not as he should be ALL year. I don't think any of the current MotoGP/WSBK riders will manage to follow Bayliss on a bicycle, so claiming he is in better shape than Haga is not fantasy. I do think Bayliss is better then Haga overall, still. But don't take it so hard, I didn't say Haga is not a huge talent, which he is. But he lacks some commitment to perform all year. But I'm sure Tardozi will squeeze that out of him.

Fabrizio.... Will do what he's told as a second rider... Hopefully to go the Sterilgarda asap!! To me he doesn't seem up to being a top WSB rider - maybe he'll prove me wrong this year - but i doubt it...

Would love to see Haga and Shakey together..... :D

Duke 21,

Apologies for the heavy handed response, that was my pedantic side coming out which happens all to often on these boards lol

While I agree that Bayliss is fitter than Haga (and the rest of the field) in the general sense, I do not believe this has much bearing on their on-track battles. Bayliss is super fit through choice, he obviously enjoys taking his body to the limit off-track but I think the advantage he gains by being that much more fit is negligable.

Fitness is not an issue, so long as you are fit enough. For me, Bayliss's extra fitness is probably mostly surplus for racing. That said, if it makes him mentally stronger and than power to him for that.
