Even Micheal knows that WSBK will produce more interesting racing - its a fantastic series and is eminently more watchable than MotoGP (although I am a huge fan of both series).

Its good to see such a high profile sportsman like Micheal appearing in the bike paddocks - can only help our sport.

John M, just remember that he rode Bayliss's bike and not Fabrizio's. Bayliss himself said that the settings on his bike are hard and not even Haga would like it. With his settings, you need to be able to wrestle the bike around...Schumi probably didn't take to those settings well but may have been quicker on Fabrizio's 1098.

I know, let's test the bike that won both races by a mile. It might not be good enough!

Haha! i definately would though!! Good on him :) Plus i'm sure Bayliss would be thrilled at another major sporting genius wanting a go on his bike

Good on him! Am very jealous. Would've been more jealous if he'd ridden the Motogp bikes. :p

If this happens next year then it is for real. Don't forget that Schumi has a collection of Motorcycles.

Anybody know if Sykes and Spies are testing with the new R1 or just familiarising themselves on this years?

As far as I know they are testing the '09, there's a soundclip of it at the test on Superbikeplanet.com (but it's such a short clip it's pointless). I think there was an article either on here or on Superbikeplanet that said they started out on the '08 bike and then switched over to the '09 after a few laps.

I wonder who in the yamaha paddock inserted some metallic edges to his knee puck velcro to get those sparks flying mid-corner. Nothing like some sparks @ knee down to make people think you're @ 180 mid-corner

Seem to remember all the 'knowledgeable' talk about how useless Jean-Michel Bayle was when he stepped into the deep end at a French GP. May have been last that time (first ever road race) but turned out to be a pretty decent pavement artist. So all you decriers give the guy a chance.
If you want to have a laugh at a car racer have one on Idiot Hamilton, the tax exile draped in the Union Jack after a lucky season up against a poor field in a 'sport' won or lost in the pits or the courts. **************
