Even Micheal knows that WSBK will produce more interesting racing - its a fantastic series and is eminently more watchable than MotoGP (although I am a huge fan of both series).

Its good to see such a high profile sportsman like Micheal appearing in the bike paddocks - can only help our sport.

someone here wanted to know what Spies did, I got this from superbikeplanet.com:

Ben SPies really knocked the WSBK paddock for a loop this afternoon when he clicked a series of really fast lap times on the Yamaha R1. Spies lapped just fractionally slower than the laps put in by Troy Bayliss and Nori Haga in the race on Sunday.

Lap times were as follows:

Troy Bayliss 1:43.7

Nori Haga 1:43.9

Ben Spies 1:44.1

I never thought much of Schumacher, always came across as arogant but I take my hat off to him now, he is a very fast bike rider and like Vale doing something he obviously likes when after all he has nothing left to prove, must be good publicity for bike racing as well! I think Gerhard Berger is also no mean bike rider as well ( perhaps somebody could confirm or otherwise). getting off the subject, although it's only testing and not much can be read into it I am glad Ben Spies is fast on the Yam, might silence a few of his knockers although I doubt it,some people love too bad mouth those who are successful, like those who bad mouth Suzuki in AMA racing as well as Ben!

I''m impressed he''s so close to elite motorcyclist pace. The last time he did high-profile laps wasn''t Colin Edwards pacing him? That makes it a lot easier.

Andrew Long, Seems fairer all round if high earners were on PAYE like real people are.

Rossconz - Yes, Gerhard Bergher is a very fast rider (by road rider standards), but he is not up with Michael Schumacher on pace. I would expect Damon Hill to be the fastest ex-formula one guy as he was a bike racer (ex-king of Brands) before he switched to cars. He had very little money and Damon scratched a living as a despatch rider in London before becoming a pro car racer. Tim Harvey the ex British Touring Car champ is also very fast on two wheels as are / were the McRae's.

Actually I' m satisfied to see Schumi involved with bikes and not expect any achievement done by him because of he is over 40s. So if anyone who loves bikes should be proud of seeing such a great champion in paddock or on track!...

I'm think it's fantastic that Schumi is getting involved in bikes, not cars. Hopefully years to come he will setup his own race team as rider or manager I don't care.
