So, Paul Byrd Motorsport let''s Lavilla go, hmm, Top (12th) Satellite rider in ''08 & his 135 points top Laconi 55, Tamada 46 and
Badovini 24 cumulative total of 125. Badovini
made 2 more Superpoles than Tamada 5 to 3. The young
Italian imo showed improvement as the season progressd
and deserves an RS08/9 Ducati. Kawasaki''s MOtoGP
results certainly took a dive since they took that team
''in house'' Jamie Hacking''s rider talent must be more
than some think as he took the ZX-10R to 3rd in AMA
SuperBike

Kawasaki will not been run by PSG-1 Corse in 2009, but Makoto Tamada will remain with the manufacturer.

Have Kawasaki chosen the riders before choosing the team? Would Bird really want to be running a team under that kind of environment, especially as the Lavilla/Fireblade pairing looks better on paper than the Kawasaki with either of those riders.

Good news that Motocard and Lascorz have a factory deal for 2009, the WSS Kwaka was competitive in 2007 and can surely take better results than this year.

The fact that Tamada has been able to keep his ride is purely down to the fact that he is Japanese as the guy has been a total failure. Dunno what has happened to him to be honest. In addition to this he has also been out-performed by a year old privateer Kawasaki in the hands of Badovini, who IMO has been one of the riders of the year, putting a pile of rubbish bike in the top 16 in qualifying and finishing an incredibe 11th in the first race in Portugal. It should be Tamada out and Badovini in IMO.

I hope that PSG-1 can get some good support from Ducati in 09 and that Badovini can progress towards the front after his standout 08 year.

...and where does this leave Laconi?

Frankly, who cares?
Since when did Kawasaki win? Anything?
They are the perpetual back markers ... want to play with the big boys but never prepared to really invest what it takes to get there.
And Paul Bird ... what has his team ever done? They had success in BSB early on, running fully sorted ex-works Ducati's, but when they went out to develop their own Honda's, well they have hardly stuffed the trophy cabinet.
Come to think about it, an under-achieving manufacturer and a non-achieving team - good match really.

Good point 'majesty'...just what is muzzy up to these days, I apologise if he's heavily involved with ama as I tire of seeing the same suzukis win race after race :)
As regards psg, they stuck with laconi too long and probably spent money on his retainer ( over inflated at that, if you ask me ) when they could've spent it elsewhere. Kawasaki need a rider that's prepared to ring the bikes neck and not get too overly involved in its shortcomings..only a young rider, not too aware of his own mortality, would suffice. 'Prima-donnas' need not apply, mr bird will more than make up for that aspect :)
