Its just plain ridiculous that Brands is off the calendar in the year that the UK has the best entry ever in the series. It would have been an easy sell out, pity corperate greed and childish pride looks to have deprived us of this event...negotiate you idiots!!!!
Donington is limp by comparison and the venue and facilities are woeful.......fancying the trip to Imola tho'!

I just can't believe that in the year when WSB has become white hot there is no round at Brands. I love the WSB atmosphere there and furthermore Shakey loves Brands. Donington is too big, impersonal and MotoGP and too far.

Donington is a hole in comparison to the services laid on @ Brands. You get looked after @ Brands and you get forgotten @ Donington

I notice that there's still a big gap in August (where the Brands round traditionally is). Maybe they'll swallow their pride (FGSport) and stop trying to stitch MSV / Palmer up like a kipper.

Now let me think based on my experiences at the following this year.....

Camp in field at Doni, wake at 4 am as DHL 747s take off. share 6 ******rs and 4 gas showers, sit in uncovered scaffold grandstand and freeze ********, off see bugger all but 200 yards of track

or Algarve Casino 5* hotel, World class new stadium at Portimao, see 80% of track from seat and big screens for the bits you can't.

i so can not make my mind up :?

Will the Donington WSBK be a 'Public Transport Only' event like the F1 ?
The circuit will also probably be in the middle of a hefty revelopement programme for F1 as well.
Both of which are irrelevant to me anyway, cos I still won't be going to that rip-off dump.

Monza and Portimao look like better options.

Now that it's official that Brands has been dropped from the WSB calendar, Mr Palmer promised to deliver a replacement bike event of equal status. I'm keen to know what this event might be. If it's good, i'll pay to go. Waiting in anticipation......?

I shall however, not be going to Donnington. Each time i have ridden there i always leave dissappointed. Entrance price is too expensive, getting in and out of the circuit is rubbish, bike park is usually a fiasco, spectator facilities are poor, toilets mostly a disgrace, rip-off prices for food!

I doubt if you will ever see formula 1 at Donington, when they fail to deliver the track improvements, Bernie (and his venture capital owners who don't give a toss about the UK only ***) will flog the round to the highest bidder, probably some oil rich **** hole with more camels than people that wants it for prestige
