Shinya is bang on, that chicane was used more than the track was used on Sunday by mutliple riders and yet ONLY biaggi was penalized.. alittle harsh really and unfair as he gained no advantage from it at all.
Max road a brilliant race and IMOP was singled out due to his status in SBK good luck at Kylama MAX!!

I see old habits never fully leave. Bloody moaner, take it on the chin, you did wrong and got a penalty - dont do it again.

The reason they gave you the penalty was because they were afraid you would repeat the 1997/98 race at Catalunya (i think) where you were given a drive through and ignored it then got given a black flag... and ignored that lol.

Stoopid Biaggi. Just stop moaning and ride the damn bike.

Biaggi ran off track but made sure he came back on in front of Kagayama. If you make a mistake and run off the track you would expect to loose a position not pull in front of a rider who stayed on teh track and slow him down.
The chicane was a farce but Max was justifiably penalised and his statement that he did not want to race shows just what an idiot and primadonna he is.

Almost half the riders ran off the track sometime during the race, Checa gained two places when he missed the chicane. It sounds like a protest from one of the other riders at the end of the race, otherwise Max would have been brought in during the race for a ride thru.

Mr Biaggi is one UGLY MOANER!! I hate his laments which are not a rare ones. Last year Biaggi also had taken Haga down and nothing happened. So these speeches are ridiculous and rather embarassing!

I think the penalties were thrown about a bit randomly on Sunday and not even the same kind of penalty. I saw on the TV ride throughs for David Checa, David Salom and Carlos Checa for cutting the chicane. Not sure about the other two but Carlos certainly never did a ride through.

20 second penalty and he still manages to finish miles ahead of Shakey Byrne

Makes me laugh last year everyone slagged of Biaggi saying how much better Byrne would go haha what a joke. Byrne isnt half as talented as Biaggi

The poster who said the penalties were handed out randomly is dead-on. I've never seen so many chicane cuts in a single year, much less a single race. Some got ridethroughs, some nothing, and some 20 seconds. Very arbitrary.

I'm no Max fan, but he was clearly over penalized relative to the other offenders. On the other hand, he can't whine he deserved NO penalty, as he did make up a position. Should have gotten 5 or 10 seconds. Just enough to knock him out of 3rd. Can't gain a pass by cutting a corner and still deserve the podium.

It's a difficult job, but that was poor marshalling.
Very mixed messaging and penalizing.

You can't call it poor marshalling. The decision was taken by the race stewards who have nothing to do with marshalling. Anyway, tough call and especially surprising considering it was an Italian on an Italian bike. I can't help wondering if the stewards picked on Max for that very reason, in order to appear impartial to the fans.

Monza is a beautiful track, the chicanes are terrible. The number of mistakes caused in these "speed traps" is enough evidence the should be redesigned.
