Hi all
My wife and I are doing hosiptal ministry and we popped in to him and we found him with his parents he was sitting up and are recovering very well.
They are waiting for more results on the concussion that he got from the accident , and according to them the minute the Doctors give him the clear he will be able to Go back home.
We are praying for you Regis and the whole of CMA South africa are praying for you.
We believe that he will have a speedy recovery.
Bless you all .
MAARTEN and Louise.
God Bless you all .

Not the gravel traps ... and he did not hit any obstacles during the accident. Laconi's severe concussion and serious injuries were suffered after hitting his head hard against the tar.

However, breaking two vertebrae and injuring one of his lungs may have been related to the gravel traps?

But, if you know Kyalami, coming off at the botoom of the 'Mineshaft' is always going to hurt. It's very steep and very fast - with limited run-off (due to the terrain).

I wish him a fast and full recovery, that was a big crash and they never enduce a Coma unless there is some serious head trauma. Very similar to the locatelli crash afew years ago and he came back to race when many thought he would not. Get well soon Laconi the grid will miss you!!

It certainly makes you realize what these guys put on the line when something like this happens. Forget about bikes and racing for a moment, lets just hope RL will get through this the way we hope he does.

Couldn't agree more Ratty.

Perhaps some of the 'so-called' fans on here ought to realise that these guys are taking the ultimate risk before constantly slagging them off.
We will never be as good as any of these blokes and an accident such as this will hopefully add a bit more perspective to some peoples comments before they make opinionated and egotistical statements about riders.

All the best Regis and wish you well.

Terrible news as Regis is a top bloke. Wishing you a speedy recovery from the UK mate.
Can I just also add that its a huge shame it takes something like this to get everyone to rally round together. We are all fans of the sport. Why can't we be this nice all of the time.
Wishing you well Regis. My fingers are crossed for you.
