Yay another round of "he's from US racing series lets hate on him" posts incoming.

I lost count of the number of times the announcers on BBC mentioned his birthplace.

Aside from all that pointless crap, anyone who doesn't think his results in race 1 ALONE deserve a WSBK seat are kidding themselves. He took an uncompetitive bike and got into the top 7!

I believe the WSBK paddock enlightenment relating to the abilities of AMA riders has begun. If race wins are what teams are looking for (rather then a spokesman/PR type riders) I would expect the old euro-guard to start looking over their shoulders as more AMA riders want to leave their home series.

"he has never been one of the 'top picks' in the AMA"

Er, he was the only guy to challenge Spies and Mladin last year - on the Kawaski so that really good. How has Honda or Yamaha stacked up with the Yosh bikes tha last couple of years? He was easily the best Superbike rider not named Spies or Mladin. He was better off at Kawaski if they wouldn't have pulled out.

And let's not forget he won both Supersport and Superstock titles for Yamaha in 2006 and was leading both championships in 2005 before he got hurt. He was with Yamaha for a while before he left.

So you are saying the BSB is so much competitve and would put him in a better light for WSBK teams? Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't recall anyone ever leaving the AMA to go to BSB to "prove" themselves.

Hackings problem was he is not used to running with slow guys. Spies is always at the front at the start and he doesn't have to deal with the mimsers

Jamie Hacking passed Broc Parkes twice in the 1st race before the red flag ,and. after the red flag when they touched . Hacking passed Haga,Parkes,Biaggi, and Carlos Checa before the red flag ,and was 4th with a chance at a podium before the red flag . After the redflag he got a bad start again, and had to repass the same riders again ,but said the new set of tyres he put on after the restart were not as good as the ones he started the race with so he could only get a 7th place finish .

Hacking and Parkes had a minor touch in race 1...call it Hacking's fault, but it was a normal racing incident. In race 2 Scassa moved over into Hacking and they touched. Hacking had nowhere to go - contrary to Scott Russell's race coverage commentary. Hacking was not going up the inside of Scassa.

Both Parkes and Hacking ran long into T1 to start race 2, but a number of riders got in hot and it was hard to see who pushed who.

On the upside....at least Hacking didn't just ride around and collect a pay check like Tamada has been doing for the past 5 years.

The man is a dork if he thinks he impresses anybody in the WSB paddock by riding like he did, damaging regular riders, including his own team-mates, championship prospects in the process. Most shots of him in race 2 he was either careering out of control across the countryside or ramming other riders. Broc Parkes is riding injured already without this lunatic trying to take him out. Not a prayer of him getting a regular ride, the SA guy who rode the bike at Kyalami was way more impressive as an overall prospect.

I'm sorry but I thought this was motorbike RACING - not "oh, excuse me I'm not a regular so I'll move out of the way" parade. Please. He over took more riders in half a race than Tamada has all year. And if those riders, Broc Parkes included, didn't want to get touched than they should have been faster and they wouldn't have had the problem now would they?

You guys are really used to a bunch sissy races. This wouldn't have even raised an eyebrow years ago. Schwantz and Rainey banged each other at ever corner possible. WSBK was built on fairing banging and bashing. Hell, Haga is the original "elbows". He's made a forceful pass or 2, no?
