Yay another round of "he's from US racing series lets hate on him" posts incoming.

I lost count of the number of times the announcers on BBC mentioned his birthplace.

Aside from all that pointless crap, anyone who doesn't think his results in race 1 ALONE deserve a WSBK seat are kidding themselves. He took an uncompetitive bike and got into the top 7!

I believe the WSBK paddock enlightenment relating to the abilities of AMA riders has begun. If race wins are what teams are looking for (rather then a spokesman/PR type riders) I would expect the old euro-guard to start looking over their shoulders as more AMA riders want to leave their home series.

racing incident with Parkes my friend - it happens. And really, he took out 3 or 4 riders? I don't think so. He bumped Parkes in race 1 and Scassa was in the way in race 2- that's not 3 or 4.

Why do these discussions always turn into American riders vs European riders? It seems that a few of you guys will not give a rider credit simply because where he is from, thats plain childish! Face it a riders place of birth has absolutely nothing to do with how good they are. Its okay to have pride in where you come from but that pride shouldnt come from putting someone else down!

IMO, the incident with Broc was rude, but still fair game. If it had been a regular WSBK rider, people would not be making as big a deal of it. Only because he was a wild card, people are whining "What nerve", "How dare he", "Who does he think he is?"
I've heard different opinions on the Scassa incident, and I couldn't tell who was tryong to pass who, so I don't really have an opinion on that.

Fact is, Hacker is incredibly competetive and a hard racer, who is not intimidated by anyone. It's unfortunate that both incidents were with fellow Kawi riders, but he went out there to prove that he's competetive and not intimidated, and he did.

"Jamie Hacking another over rated American rider along with Hopkins"

The guy was running in 4th on a bike that's never been there in his 1st race and he's overrated - Jeez, you're hard to please. So I guess since he is overrated his 7th in front of Smrz, Haga, Haslam, Bryne, Kagayama, Sykes, Lavilla, and Corser makes them what? :? :? :?

Overrated too?

I think not.......

It never ceases to amaze me the number of no hopers that come onto these boards and spout off that such and such a riders is crap.
The only thing it proves is that you are ignorant.

PBMotorsprt could do a lot worse than putting Hacking on the bike as he has a load of experience and the team would get the benefit of having some different feedback.
The only round that clashes with his AMA commitments is the German round so who knows..

The only thing that might put team managers off of offering him a full seasons ride is his age. At 37-38 his not in his first flush of youth, however old age and cunning will triumph over youth and enthusiasm every time (one can hope) :D

If I was someone from Kawi, I would have been impressed. Regardless of the pass on Broc, the fact is he got a better result then any other Kawi rider in 44 races. I would have been impressed with his aggressiveness, which is necessary in WSBK, more then in any other series probably. I don't think he had much of an advantage over the other riders in track knowledge. WSBK riders are notorious for learning tracks quickly. The majority of the riders rode here last year (albeit a different layout) and are familiar with most of the track. Hacker is on completely different tires, a bike that is vastly different then the one he rode last season, and hasn't ridden a 1000cc bike since last season.

Miller isn't exactly a difficult track to learn. It is a very new track and doesn't have some of the nuances and character that older tracks have. Not really any secret lines to learn, so Hackers knowledge of the track is a minimal advantage at best.
His age is not a big factor. He and Ben trained together when Ben was in the AMA. Ben trains with professional cyclers and Olympic athletes. Nuff said. Only disadvantage his age may have is recovery time after injuries. Hacker is one of the most competetive racers I've ever seen. He should be given another wildcard ride this season to really silence the doubters. As for USA vs European, etc. Whos cares? A racer is a racer.

Another "arrogant American" comment. Jeolousy will do that to a person. :) It must be killing you Limeys that our riders are faster than your crop this year! Hacking was up to fourth right out of the gate and set fastest time in Q1, while Spies just cruised to a double victory!

Have fun criticizing Spies, Hacking, and Hopkins while rooting for which of your riders gets 4th, 5th, or 6th place!

"Jamie Hacking another over rated American rider along with Hopkins"
--------------------------
Actually, Jamie Hacking was born in England.

Hacking was pushing hard, on a bike he's never been on before, on tires he's never ridden on before, against competition he's never raced against before. Since when is that a crime in racing?

You try to make it sound like Luca Scassa is more than a WSBK backmarker.
