Yay another round of "he's from US racing series lets hate on him" posts incoming.

I lost count of the number of times the announcers on BBC mentioned his birthplace.

Aside from all that pointless crap, anyone who doesn't think his results in race 1 ALONE deserve a WSBK seat are kidding themselves. He took an uncompetitive bike and got into the top 7!

I believe the WSBK paddock enlightenment relating to the abilities of AMA riders has begun. If race wins are what teams are looking for (rather then a spokesman/PR type riders) I would expect the old euro-guard to start looking over their shoulders as more AMA riders want to leave their home series.

Hacking was indeed aggressive. But that should be admired, I would think. Considering that it was his first ride on any litre bike this season and on a bike he had never seen before, with a team he had never worked with before, on tyres he had never ridden on before, and he finished higher than any Kawasaki rider has finished in over 44 WSBK events, I would have to say it was a terrrific result. Hasn't any of the other Kawi riders ridden on their home track? How did they fair? And one other observation, did the team gave him the slowest motor they could find? There wasn't any bike that couldn't out-pull him on the straight, including Parkes.

@RawDawg

"So you are saying the BSB is so much competitive and would put him in a better light for WSBK teams?"

Not necessarily more competitive, but the migration of riders from BSB to WSBK is historically much higher than from AMA. A BSB series rider with ability is statistically more likely to grab WSBK team managers' attentions and make the step up to WSBK than an AMA one with equal ability.

Decent job this wknd Jamie

But give it a rest mate your WAY WAY too old now. If you really wanted to try WSBK full time you would have done it 10 years ago mate rather than do a national superstock/sport championship for most of the time.

Just smacks of someone who knows the AMA is down the pan and doesnt want to be sitting at home next year.
Get Simon Andrews on it I say! The Makoto Tamada that won motogps has been kiddknapped, the guy you see now just cant be the same man!!! Can it??!!?

Please give the Hacker age thing a rest. How long do you think he needs to race? Jamie is EXCELLENT at setting the Kawa up to compete with the other bikes. Just think if PB brought him over and got a good 2 or 3 years out of him, the bike would be much better not to mention the consistent top 6 or 7 places that Jamie would be achieving. You act like he needs to be with the team for 6 years or he's not worth it.

Of course it isn't, but if it was my team I'd certainly be impressed with his performance and aggression and would be figuring out a way to retain his services next year. Racing shouldn't be a parade of poofs saying, "oh dear do you mind if I take that spot?" Name a successful racer (i.e., winner) who hasn't bashed and banged his way past when necessary.

I'd rather see a rider take an aggressive last lap shot at a pass for the podium like Leon Haslam did in Race 2, than see a rider cruise around making sure he secures points.

There were at least 10 moves in the WSS race that were more aggressive than anything Hacking did.
