Yay another round of "he's from US racing series lets hate on him" posts incoming.

I lost count of the number of times the announcers on BBC mentioned his birthplace.

Aside from all that pointless crap, anyone who doesn't think his results in race 1 ALONE deserve a WSBK seat are kidding themselves. He took an uncompetitive bike and got into the top 7!

I believe the WSBK paddock enlightenment relating to the abilities of AMA riders has begun. If race wins are what teams are looking for (rather then a spokesman/PR type riders) I would expect the old euro-guard to start looking over their shoulders as more AMA riders want to leave their home series.

Jamie said the mechanics were all extremely interested in his setup tips. The way it sounded during the coverage, they were all over him like he was giving away money. Like they were at a loss to improve overall setup, not just at Miller and Jamie had answers. Broc benefitted from Jamie's local track knowledge a great deal as you would expect. He may be older than most of the grid, but he's faster most of the grid. Check him out on youtube saving the 600 at Barber. Greatest save I've ever seen. He has a ton of knowledge about that bike.
He also learns bikes and tracks quickly, like he did on the Kaw GP bike in 2008 when he smashed their track record in a practice day between downpours.

"could you imagine PB face when hacker duffed broc up n made him lose 3 or 4 places in the process"

Yeah PB was probably thinking "this is the 2nd race in a row that a wildcard has shown my rider his tailpipes - I may have put my money on the wrong horses in Parks and Tamada"

Its funny because i remember an article on crash congratulating parkes for 9th place a few races back and all the Euro guys were commenting how great Parkes was. He just got upstaged by an AMA series rider that Ben Spies said was a serious racer and everyone said yeah right acroos the pond and he just stuffed it to the WSBK regulars. If he can do it on a euro track, what will they say then?Hacking is British by the way. I bet Mladin could dog the Alstare Suzukis too and get on the podium.

Unfortunatley I have to quietly cheer on the green bikes. I sell them so of course i want them to do well. we have other brands mind you, but you have to be amazed at how they halfheartedly do this yet, build a quality machine. they have a really good lineup that they dont even know how to promote. they have motocross dialed. the skis and quads are top notch. all new cruisers and both sportbikes have bike of the year honors. who do have to smack around for posin the brand

I'd be quite happy to see Hacker on the biker for the remaining rounds.

One fact that has been missed the no brainers from both sides of the pond who post here is that Hacking is from the UK, born in the North of England.
The observant with note that he has/had a British Bulldog logo on his riding gear, reflecting his roots.. :p

The first race was split into 2 was it not due to the red flag so that's no real indication of what he is capable of over a full race distance...the SA guy, whose name I still can't remember, also got the bike up to 4th place at one stage but faded back to midfield as tyre management came in to play and his were used up.....the same scenario was quite likely for Hacking, him pushing so hard in the early stages of the race. Race 2, which was full length, was maybe more of a true indication of his abilities...wildcards putting on a show at their home round is nothing new, its been happening in the UK for well over a decade.....

FYI for anyone who wants to know Hacking is actually English by birth, he was born in Lancashire and then left for the States aged 4.

More random facts that you didn't know you needed will be coming your way soon. :p

He was a tad over eager though and part of me wondered if he ws trying to ensure he got another ride on the Kwaka by taking all the other Kawka riders out! (joke peeps, take a chill pill)

Oh and saw that save he made on Youtube....a bit of luck and a bit of judgement methinks but awesome nonetheless

I don't understand all the talk about Hacking's age. He's the same age as Corser and there isn't any talk about forcing him to retire. Most contracts are for only two years so what's the big deal? I would think the pairing of older veteran adept at developing a bike and a young up and comer would be a good thing.

Could it really make the Kawi's racing program any worse??? Give the old guy a chance in Europe for a few rounds.

By your statement ANYONE in the top 10 could have had tire problems and faded back to another postiion so that argument doesn't hold water. And yes, wildcards have put on great shows in WSBK but NOT since the control tires and NOT on an unfamiliar bike. Everytime a wildcard won in the past like Tamada and Shakey they used their own teams, bikes, tires, etc - they had familiarity. So that's comparing apples and oranges.

You're the same guy who called Hacking a dork early in the thread. Just admit you hate seeing him do so well.
