I've said it before. I can't see Ben going to MotoGP. It's only logical. Why go to a series where the machinery determines the running order? A boring series at that!

World Superbikes, bar none, is the best to watch, with the best real world riders on the best production based machines.

If you want MotoGP to shine brighter than WSBK, take their traction control down a few notches and bring back the 990 displacement. You know, it's a pleasure to delete the MotoGP races off my DVR these days.

Spies is intelligent and if the logic is clear enough, he'll stay right where he is with Yamaha.

And, thank you, Ben. We are witnessing something beautiful with your skills.

While I agree with Airwave's comments above, I think spies won't be satisfied till he's got a MotoGP ride.

If you've followed him in AM, you know that he was very vocal about wanting to get to MotoGP, and when he wasn't able to secure a ride only went to WSBK reluctantly. i don't see how one season of dominating lesser riders in WSBK has made him change his mind. spies wants to test himself against the best, and that means Rossi and Lorenzo.

Spies will be riding for Tech3 next year. Toseland goes back to WSBK. And Spies will run up front in MotoGP. Mark it down.

It will be fascinating to watch Spies run against Rossi and Lorenzo

I thought Sterilgarda was only going to sponsor yamaha for a few select rounds??? Seems they like to see their name on top of the box and are enjoying their money well spent.

They must have been in complete glory race 1 at Misano.

Spies is gone to MotoGP. There is no one that can touch him in WSBK. He'll be wasting time another year in WSBK - guys like Stoner and Lorenzo are younger than him yet have more experience and only getting better. Spies needs to go as soon as possible.

I think Tech 3 and Suzuki are really the only options. Gresini's factory Honda is going to Simoncelli and Scot has so little money it had to bring on a guy with next no experience on big bikes. The satellite Ducati is historically a disaster so I think that's out.

And Suzuki may have the edge. Surely Spies wouldn't want to be in a satellite team for too long. If Lorenzo signs with Yam for 2 years I may look for Spies to go to Suzuki.

or he could do 2 years in Tech 3 and go where ever he wants. Maybe Val will retire and he goes to Fiat or signs with Repsol. Who knows? But it sure is interesting!

I reckon he'll stay exactly where he is.

He says he's really enjoying WSB, and there doesn't seem to be much better a bike than the Yam. He's only young, so it's not as though he isn't going to get any more chances, and I would have thought he'll want a WSB title, or maybe two, before he goes anywhere else.

Besides which, if he's already made the decision then it's doubtful it'll be Tech3 as that means either Toseland or Edwards are already out of a job. And we'd probably know about that?

Stupid rule, if a team want to run with a Rookie then let them, anyway, I would like to see him in MotoGP in a Repsol Honda, they need a rider that can take it to Vale, Stoner and Lorenzo. Ped and Dovi can't.

The only way he will go back to Suzuki is if they allow Kevin Schwantz become a team owner and Ben was to ride for him. He is taking Toseland's spot on Tech3 and if decent results continue then he will take one of the factory Yamaha seats when Rossi retires after 2010.

Spies is a phenomenal talent on a superbike, one of the best I've ever seen. I had no doubts he would go well this year in WSBK, and he deserves to win the championship. As for motogp, I'm not 100% convinced he'd be right up there with the Stoners, Lorenzos and Rossis, partly because the 800's seem to suit the 250 guys more. If it was still 990's, I'd fancy Spies to be fighting for the championship in his first year in motogp, but not on an 800. I hope he gets the chance to prove himself though, it will be great to watch.

Going to Tech 3 would be a mistake, IMO, unless he has assurances that he would be on the factory team the next year. All Rossi has to do is decide to race another year or two and it's "sorry Ben maybe next year". Yamaha would be dumb to let Lorenzo go as well.

Rizla Suzuki would be even worse, as the bike is uncompetitive and will likely stay that way.

A "factory" Gresini Honda would be a possibility, but Honda seems so political and would make sure the Repsol riders get the best stuff first.

That really leaves staying in WSBK, where he likes it and fans like him. Complete dominance. Yamaha could pay him a few million to win more titles. They already have MotoGP covered.
