I've said it before. I can't see Ben going to MotoGP. It's only logical. Why go to a series where the machinery determines the running order? A boring series at that!

World Superbikes, bar none, is the best to watch, with the best real world riders on the best production based machines.

If you want MotoGP to shine brighter than WSBK, take their traction control down a few notches and bring back the 990 displacement. You know, it's a pleasure to delete the MotoGP races off my DVR these days.

Spies is intelligent and if the logic is clear enough, he'll stay right where he is with Yamaha.

And, thank you, Ben. We are witnessing something beautiful with your skills.

"Ben can't beat Mladin"
- Beat MM for three AMA Titles

"He's a rookie coming to WSBK, new bike, new tracks...he will get beat by the Euro's"
-8 poles and 10 wins already

Add in the comments about it being a Ducati track, a home race for the Brits, etc....etc...

Timing is everything....but...

No way he goes to Suzuki.

No way he goes to Honda. We've seen how Honda treats it's riders. Repsol is a worthless brand name in the states...adding Ben won't change that. Teaming Ben with the poison Dwarf, or one of the other midgets wouldn't be a great idea.

Yamaha is a family and they treat their riders right when they can perform and carve a niche out for themselves.

A lot of interesting theories here (except kofi's). It would appear that the easy pick would be Tech3. However, where does he go from there? Unless Rossi or Lorenzo plan on moving on to another team then that leaves Spies to ride around on a satellite bike for a few years which probably wouldn't suit his needs/desire.
The Suzuki isn't as bad a bike as it used to be and with the right team (calling Mr. Schwantz), which includes his current crew, he could be just as competitive within the next couple of years. And by a couple of years I mean about the same time frame as riding on the Tech3 bike.
I'm thinking he would rather not race against Rossi on a lesser Yamaha. I Could be wrong.

Ben will go where ever he chooses. There isn't a team out there who would not take him - besides Fiat Yamaha.

It must be nice to be the prettiest girl at the party.

Unless you are somehow able to ride the Ducati like Stoner (and no one else seems to be able), the only competitive bike in MotoGP is Yamaha. Could Spies make the other bikes competitive? Probably, but he would still be at a disadvantage compared to the Yamahas of Rossi and Lorenzo. I don't think a rider of Spies' caliber should go to a sattelite team. Sattelite bikes have no chance to win. His stock is the highest right now out of any rider in the world without a signed contract for next year. Unless Yamaha makes a third factory ride for him, he should stay in WSBK next year, and keep his reputation as a winner up so when the right seat opens up he can take it on his terms.

Ben will be at Gresini along side Simoncelli. Expect to see Gresini with TWO factory spec RCV for both riders. I would be domb for for ben to go to yamaha. Why would he want to play third fiddle to Rossi & Lorenzo?? That is the same reason why Simoncelli did not consider yamaha.

Quote Marco Simoncelli,
Why Honda? I like their offer a bit more. I thank Yamaha and (Tech 3 boss Herve) Poncharal for the interest they've shown in me, but this opportunity seemed like the best one.

He'll be in motogp.

Fiat Yamaha: Rossi, Milandri.
Repsol Honda: Lorenzo, Dovi.
Suzuki: Pedrosa, Bautista.
Tech3: Toseland, Spies.

Spies to replace Milandri following season.

With the rumours that Colin Edwards is coming back to WSB next year you would have to think that his MotoGP ride is going to Ben Spies
