I've said it before. I can't see Ben going to MotoGP. It's only logical. Why go to a series where the machinery determines the running order? A boring series at that!

World Superbikes, bar none, is the best to watch, with the best real world riders on the best production based machines.

If you want MotoGP to shine brighter than WSBK, take their traction control down a few notches and bring back the 990 displacement. You know, it's a pleasure to delete the MotoGP races off my DVR these days.

Spies is intelligent and if the logic is clear enough, he'll stay right where he is with Yamaha.

And, thank you, Ben. We are witnessing something beautiful with your skills.

He missed out on fighting with bayliss, he won't want to miss valentino.. He wants to beat everyone out there and he's already beaten the worldsbk guys. He'll move on.

(Cont) turnaround, Toseland is probably gone. Edwards, though riding well, may be considered too past his prime to get an extension.

If Ben goes Moto GP, this is where I think he'll end up. The bike is pretty much factory - and obviously the M1 is very competitive, Yam management treats its riders well, and, depending on what happens with Rossi and Lorenzo, he may get a Fiat (or whomever sponsors factory at that time) ride in a year to three, or, this could certainly be a springboard toward a factory ride for Honda, Suzuki (if, by that time, it becomes more competitive), or Ducati (if, by that time, it destroys fewer careers).

Honda:

bagging on it, but Pedrosa has always gotten Duc-matching speeds out of it (even pre-pneumatic valves). Of course, he weighs less than nothing, but, still, it is not a "second grade" bike. Dovi is a consistent 4th finisher, and, as solid a rider as he is, in that field, with Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner, and a healthy (or even not healthy) Pedrosa, Dovi will ALWAYS be a 4th or 5th finisher, REGARDLESS of bike. (Put him on an M1, and he WON'T be beating this top 3 or 4.)

Satellite-wise, unlike Yam or Duc, there is a greater step down from factory with Honda, with most teams using prior season engines, chassis, etc. There are exceptions, as is to be with Simoncelli next year, as I (cont)

understand it, with Elias this year (mostly), and with Shinya (for some races) in the past, getting factory-spec satellite bikes.

If Honda is a consideration for Ben, if he can get a guaranteed factory-spec bike, he'll have a bike under him with which he can win races (assuming that he himself has the ability to win in Moto GP). Put Rossi, Lorenzo, or Stoner (or a healthy Pedrosa) on the current RCV (did I say "RSV" before?... If so, a mistake), and it would be winning races.

I would've like to have seen Simoncelli at Tech 3, but, objectively, he didn't "lose" anything going with a factory-spec RCV at Gresini. He figures there is better odds of getting a factory seat quicker, (cont)

(Cont) and, with Honda's track record and resources, the bike's probably only gonna get better. Point is, the RCV is NOT, contrary to the opinions of many here, a sh*t bike.

Ducati:
Still has a reputation for the most powerful motor in the paddock, but, if you're not a short Aussie with a cute wife, with phenomenal talent and aggression, AND with a crew that can dial in MaMa (Magnetti Marelli) JUST right, can destroy careers. Every top guy coming out of 250s seems to be leery of the Desmo GPxs, and, thus far, rightly so.

Like Yam, and unlike (most of) Honda, Pramac gets factory-spec bikes, perhaps with slight delay (even less, it seems, than with Yam). So, if Ben is considering (cont)

Toseland and Spies swap rides, Spies gets the factory bike when Jorge or Valentino leave. Simple.

Spies may stay in WSBK if he fails to win the championship this season. Does James have another year on contract with Tech3?

(Cont) a Duc ride, he won't lose much at all here going "satellite." Given recent history, however, don't know if it's worth the risk for a superbike guy - and not many superbike guys have been terribly successful in Moto GP as we know - to start on a bike that can destroy established GP guys.

So, not very likely here, it would appear.

Suzuki:
Dissed him once. MAJORLY. Does Ben hold grudges? Will Schwantz be able to work a miracle?

Even if Ben were to be able to completely disassociate himself from the emotional aspect of this decision, let's face it, the GSV-R still has far from the best motor and chassis. And, unlike with Honda, you just don't know if Zuk can improve (cont)
