You have got to be ****ting me right . Let me get this right . A washed up nearly 40 year old has one good ride on a track that he has done thousands of laps now he wants someone to give him a full factory WSBK ride . I am sure Yamaha Italy will fire a certain Mr Spies if he asks nicely . Why stop there Jamie how about a MotoGP ride ? Get Vale to go to F1 and you can get yourselve a ride on a nice shiny Fiat sponsored M1 .

Best of Lck to Mr. Hacking. Was a great rider for Yamaha , but they gave his ride away to a younger guy. Seems it might have been an image deal.
As for coverage in the states, it plain SUKS. I've written to Fox and SPEED, never to recieve a reply. I went on to Speeds forums to voice my feedback, and got booted. They will not accept decsent from thier fans. They won't acknowledge that thier programming is BS. It has become another reality TV channel with very lil' racing info. NASCAR is the biggest joke in racing, because its not. They've attempted to export it but no one wants it. They won't let bikes take any time away from thier cash cow. I think they worry it'll take $$ from the BS.

Yes, Hacking hasn't exactly shone the last few meetings. Andrews was impressive last time round, but that was on what could be considered a "home circuit". Hacking impressed on his as well.

I'm sure Jamie'd do better with some more experience with bike and tracks under his belt, but is there still the time for that? I agree that Morais would be a better prospect. And twelve months ago Badovini was really impressive on the Pedercini Kwak, often doing better than Laconi and Tamada. He seemed to have promise too, and I believe he was signed directly to Kawasaki. It's shame he got caught in the PSG-1 debacle, but Kawa would do well to invest in these young riders IMO!

And wild card Smon Andrews finished the best Kawasaki at Donington (10th in race 2)....privateer team, virtually no electronic aids on the bike and riding with a broken scaphoid.....one of 6 Brits in the top 10....but we'll keep quiet about that.

BTW is it me or does Hacking have a passing resemblance to a certain Mr Armstrong?

Nothing against Hacking, but for him to say that no riders done a better job he's obviously forgotten about Morias who im sure would have done better at the european circuits as he's raced on them before and in my opinion has the skills to develop as he is much younger.

i've ridden bikes since i was a small kid and wherever i've been in the world always seen motorcycling as universal always a nod from other bikers always the first to stop when you break down, a worldwide brotherhood if you like. so a quote like if there's no americans in the race series then i won't watch makes me scratch my head what next i won't watch if there's no harley's or buells i only have one countryman in wss on the world stage and doing well but enjoy all forms of racing or should i just watch wss ?????? as for the tv coverage that sucks but maybe thats because of fickle fans that don't watch cos they have no hometown hero to cheer so the network thinks who cares why bother :?

While Hacking may be a bit old compared to other rookies in the WSB series he's got experience and titles in AMA that make him worthy of at least a satellite or privateer team consideration. He's proved he can compete and with a decent bike like a Honda or Yamaha and more track knowledge under his belt he can impress. I'm not saying he'd win the championship but if on a decent team I could see him consistently being around the top ten or higher on a good day.

One would think that we get enought NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, NASCAR coverage. They could spare 2 minutes every week or 2 weeks to cover some MotoGP and WSBK action. Hell ESPN doesnt even cover the USA's own AMA racing. Oh wait they had 1 picture of the USGP last weekend. But a 3 paragraph article and accompaning video about how Mark Walhburg blew the cerimonial first pitch at a Boston Red Sox game... God I hate ESPN. 5 minutes a week is ALL I ask.

Cubicrube we do get all the WSBK races. They broadcast on Speed the Sunday of race weekend in a back to back format. :)

I too would like to see some more Americans up there. We tend to be fickle in that if there is no "hometown hero" to root for we dont really watch the sport. I wouldnt be watching WSBK if Spies wasnt in it. And I wouldnt be watching MotoGP if Hayden wasnt there either. Call if whatever you want, but I like to have a hometown guy to root for. Makes it easier for me to convert people as well.
Nicky got a 20-30 second mention on ESPN's Sportscenter(our sports highlight show) back in 2005 when he dominated the USGP at Laguna. Nothing in 06 though.
