You have got to be ****ting me right . Let me get this right . A washed up nearly 40 year old has one good ride on a track that he has done thousands of laps now he wants someone to give him a full factory WSBK ride . I am sure Yamaha Italy will fire a certain Mr Spies if he asks nicely . Why stop there Jamie how about a MotoGP ride ? Get Vale to go to F1 and you can get yourselve a ride on a nice shiny Fiat sponsored M1 .

Fair enough that he wants an opportunity in WSB, though Kawasaki were dreadful last round.

The ZX10R is a great street bike and gets great results in superstock racing too, so why is it that the Kawasaki factory connot turn it into a full-on fast race bike :?

If they can't produce the goods, then let some other professional engine builder company prepare the engines, there are plenty that do that e.g. Stiggy Honda are using one and doing very well.

The problem with the Kawi is not the engine, it's the suspension (frame and swingarm included).

As for trying to compare his Miller results to tracks he has not seen before, the rest of the feild has had plenty of track time on the circuits he has not (barring Spies), one could speculate that with enough track time he would be up thier with the rest.

The Kawasaki is not the best platform to judge a riders capabilities, let alone a wild card ride.

And for the record, I'm NOT a Hacking fan.

Probably just trying to get out of the joke that is AMA Superbikes/whatever it's called now. He's racing 600cc Kwaks against 1125cc Buells?! Not even in the same class as Mladin, can't blame him for wanting out. But he is a bit old isnt he!?

The pungent odor of desperation is in the air.

I'm not the biggest Hacking fan but I wished him well because he's always done much better than most on the Kawi and I feel for all the ama riders. That being said he was given a more than fair shot at it after his great ride at Miller and he failed to impress. In the search for a ride in any of the series it's very cut throat so you must hit the ground running and show your form straight away.

Sorry Hacks there's no seat for you here, he might have to go to BSB for a year to prove his worth to the Euro teams.

wr86,
If he was on anything other than the Kawi I would agree with you. The ZX10 is a POS, and should not be used in judging a riders true ability.

If he was on a Duc or a Suzuki and was jacked up like a football bat I would whole heartedly agree with you.

Nobody handed Hacking his AMA titles. I'll take any passionate rider over those that merely ride in circles for a paycheck.

fan,
I agree with you I think Hacking would do well on any wsbk team however the world is not always fair. Look at poor Sykes who's doing excellent for a rookie on new tracks and he's in danger of losing his ride next year.

In this cash strapped climate every team is looking for the next Spies and many people think if he can win straight out of the box why can't their riders? and when they're looking for the next superstar a 38 year old SS rider isn't the most attactive prospect.

As I recall, Hacking only went to Kawasaki to ride Superbike after Yamaha screwed him and put two inferior riders on its Superbike for 2008 even after he handed them the Supersport and Superstock titles in the same year! Then Kawi yanks the superbike out from under him this year and sends him back to the joke that replaced the Supersport series this year. Where the he11 is Kawasaki spending its race budget this year? If Kawasaki doesn't quit crapping on people like they have this year no one will want to ride for them. I would like to see him on a Honda or a Ducati in WSBK.

as much as i like the guy and would love to see him get a chance i just can't see it happening.you got 2 or 3 from wss ready to move up and maybe 3 or 4 from moto gp making the switch i can't see a place for the guy.as for age that ain't a issue more of a help than a hinderence as his experience will help most teams would make a great second rider in most teams for his knowledge alone
