You have got to be ****ting me right . Let me get this right . A washed up nearly 40 year old has one good ride on a track that he has done thousands of laps now he wants someone to give him a full factory WSBK ride . I am sure Yamaha Italy will fire a certain Mr Spies if he asks nicely . Why stop there Jamie how about a MotoGP ride ? Get Vale to go to F1 and you can get yourselve a ride on a nice shiny Fiat sponsored M1 .

The comment about a number of good WSS riders coming up might be valid but that series has not produced great riders. The guys that have done well in World Superbike are from other superbike series and GP.

Well said El Bigonio. Hacking won both the Supersport and Superstock C'ships at a time when both were heavily factory supported. I think he beat Spies that year because Spies only specialized in superbike in 2008.

He could get a ride with Kawasaki in WSB if the factory withdrew the imposition of Tamada on the team....but where would that leave him? Midfield struggling for a top ten, or lower, and mainly behind Parkes who is faster.
His performance over the rounds he has done haven't shown him in a favourable light...maybe over-riding and trying to impress was the problem but the stats don't look good at all.
No rider with serious ambition wants that ride and IMHO no other top flight team would consider him....sorry!

I think he would do better than Tamada and he's a lot more entertaining , maybe he'd attract more american fans too.

On a wider point, i do think the series needs a couple of Americans in it. Given the woeful coverage you guys get over there i'd hope a few more riders with the stars and stripes attached might get you a decent timeslot to watch the races :)

If you could add maybe Hayden and keep Spies and Hopper in the series then they might....just might let you watch all the races :p

If he comes with sponsors and some money he'll get a ride. If riders like Ayrton Badovini, Vittorio Iannuzzo, Tommy Hill, Matteo Baiocco, David Salom et al can get rides this old timer can too. He's no more of a gamble than any of the WSS riders.

I have been the only guy that's proven to put in good results on it.(Taken from article)
What about Sheridan Morais, I think he put in good results on it! and he is only 24.

Cubicrube we do get all the WSBK races. They broadcast on Speed the Sunday of race weekend in a back to back format. :)

I too would like to see some more Americans up there. We tend to be fickle in that if there is no "hometown hero" to root for we dont really watch the sport. I wouldnt be watching WSBK if Spies wasnt in it. And I wouldnt be watching MotoGP if Hayden wasnt there either. Call if whatever you want, but I like to have a hometown guy to root for. Makes it easier for me to convert people as well.
Nicky got a 20-30 second mention on ESPN's Sportscenter(our sports highlight show) back in 2005 when he dominated the USGP at Laguna. Nothing in 06 though.
