Gravel Traps!!! How many riders need to be injured (Rainy comes to mind) before the tracks understand the proper way to design and maintain them! Cripes, golf courses do a better job with there sand traps on a daily basis and they are not life threatening! No excuse!!!!!

Ruben Xaus may not miss any World Superbike rounds, despite having an operation to have three pins put into his broken femur following an accident at Brno.

Admirable sentiments displayed by Ruben, nice to see a racer who has still got the 'desperate to get back and ride' mentality. Speedy recovery RX

Xaus has always shown that he believes he has a WC in him or more wins at least. Hopefully it will come together for him at BMW, he's been away from the front for too long now.

Five weeks would be an impressive recovery time, although obviously his break isn't as bad as Neukirchner's was. Corser clearly isn't the rider he used to be, so I can see Xaus getting the better results of the two in 2010, perhaps including a podium or two. Whether he can win a title for BMW depends on having a good development rider once Troy does call it a day. Xaus has had his moments since returning to WSBK, even if he sometimes looks like a shadow of the guy who did so well for d'Antin as a MotoGP rookie.

Rolf...i was thinking exactly the same. Post Rainey's career ending crash I thought all gravel traps had to be flat, by 'racing law'.

Disgraceful that riders are still being injured this way!

Totally agree re gravel traps, wasn't Pedrosa's German crash last year ok before he slid off the track onto the raised gravel?

Glad to hear your recovery is going so well, I believe it most certainly helps with such a wonderful positive attitude, looking forward to seeing you back on your bike, and i wouldn't be surprised to see you on the podium in the not so distant future...
God Bless
