Can't wait until 2011 Spies to tech 3 Cal to ????? Really think Cal will show Spies his pipes.... Look at the facts 6oo,s no one has dominated like this! Nearly 2 secs quicker on a 600 on tracks he doesn,t know!!!!!!! Unbelievable..OK Spies has done well as a rookie but hasn,t dominated in the same way....The clincher is as soon as it is wet Spies disappears to the back or mid field but Cal is still at the pointy end....Bonus for the teams is that Cal doesn't think he is the second coming so his cost is a lot less

What a poor comparison! Being fast on a 600 doesn't mean you're going to be fast anywhere else! Just ask super glue and Ant West!
Cal hasn't been riding against Haga, Biaggi and the rest of the true talent either!
Why risk a crash in the wet on Friday when it will be dry on Saturday?
The only "fact" you've stated is that Cal has been great on a 600! The rest is your opinion and conjecture!

Oh, you should read more of the news before you post! Spies is staying in WSB next year and if Sykes continues to improve, as he has, he'll retain his ride also. That leaves Cal going somewhere else in WSB or Moto2.

True that 600 speed doesn't always translate onto Superbikes or GP bikes, but Crutchlow seems to have more speed than Sofuoglu or West - not forgetting WSBK winners like Pitt and McCoy and rising stars like Eugene and Lascorz. Besides, Cal IS proven on Superbikes - he ran with and ahead of some great riders in BSB.

He may very well become a top flight superbike rider. He won't walk in and dominate Spies as the first poster insinuated!

Neither does riding a SBK mean you are fast anywhere else..ask Toseland, Edwards and Fabrizio, Spies hasn't been riding against the "true talent" of Rossi,Stoner,Pedrosa,Lorenzo either
Are you the father of the second coming? It will be dry on Saturday...You have deemed it so???? OK it probably will be but who knows? Certainly not Spies
So why bother going out at all then?
The only "fact" we all know is Spies is fast very fast (great) on a SBK but hasn't dominated the class in the same way fellow rookie Cal has. The rest is your opinion and conjecture DrifterJake

While there might not be any evidence yet that he'd beat the top Superbike guys, I think the thing we can all agree on is that he's rather too good to be in WSS any longer.

@DrifterJake

"if Sykes continues to improve, as he has, he'll retain his ride"

Crutchlow's contract guarantees him a factory Yamaha WSBK ride if he wins the championship. Sykes meanwhile hasn't fulfilled the contractual performance terms that would have ensured a renewal. If Crutchlow decides to come to WSBK, contract terms dictate that Tom may indeed have to make way for him. Though it might be a moot point anyway, as Cal seems set on Moto2.

I am not and have not said that Cal would dominate Spies in SBK. All I am saying is that I get Peed off with people thinking/saying that Spies is the "next Rossi" or better!!! I like Spies and the way he handles himself in the media...However he maybe a rookie and doing very well in his class, he isn't dominating the way Cal is in his class...He isn't even leading the championship..(yet)so perhaps Cal would do better (going on their records on new tracks/machinery) in a class neither of them have really competed in (Wildcards excepted). But hey this is at least 2 years down the track

VRob, Didn't know that about Cals contract. I did read that the team was happy with Sykes results and would like to keep him.

Billy the Blow fish, You must be extremly challenged. It seams to be beyond your capability to turn on a radio or a tv or go to the internet and get a weather forcast.

You also are completly correct about the competition in WSS being so tough. I just don't know how Cal does it.
With MotoGp race winners, former WSB race winners and a WSB champion circulating the track with Spies, no wonder he's had such an easy time of it. :?

To say cal has been more dominant than Spies is a farce and should be retracted. How many wins and poles this year for each? Lap records etc. Oh and Cal has been to some of these tracks before and his bike has been around in this configuration for how long?
